Don’t get me wrong I’d be very happy to add him to the list but an eraser and pencil won’t do it. How the hell could we get him? I don’t know how much space we have on the salary cap but with pick 10 I’d be amazed if a handful of clubs at least didn’t have as much or more.

This is not the 60s , you can't just decide you want a player and then get them because you offer them good money. There is a thing called a Draft where clubs select in order of 1 to 16 . We have pick 10. Essendon will make a play for every player out of contract that they think is decent(in order of best to worst of course) They have first live pick and thats what you do when you have first live pick. As others have said it is highly unlikely he will be going anywhere.
As for the comment about him being better than his brother(standard younger borther line)PLEASE. Gary is a gun. He actually wants to play the game and plays with a bit of passion. I am not yet convinced Nathan will even make it let alone be better than gary. The days of just showing up and playing well like his old man did are gone.

I agree. He's been selling their low finish in the media as the greatest thing to ever happen to them since about round 10. He's got them all believing it too. He is the master. My hat goes off to him in that regard.

They don't actually believe it - They just know not to bite the hand that feeds them.
