Seriously, my mate had to go there for some business thing. He said people in the "CBD" were the rudest, weirdest people he had met. He said two people were randomly barking at him, people spit on the street a lot more and there is no places to relax for a drink as everything closes by 9pm. I'm so glad I am in Sydney. In fact I'd be anywhere but Adelaide.

He said it was like someone had cut and paste Baghdad, Iraq into Australia.

I've never had a real problem with Adelaide, was knocking off a fantastic 21 year old with dream kagunga's over there for a while when I was 30 (ah, ta be tirty agahn me hearties), and have been there many times for business and stuff... probably over 50 times actually...

But you open your mouth and say... "Foooootttyyyy" and before you finish the word you are beset upon by the biggest rush of ****wits you could imagine....

So the formulae is... go for roots, wine, beaches and fun... don't go for footy

Glad to be of assistance :thumbsu:

Maybe it's because your mate was giving off the odour of a w***er. We can smell them a mile away.

As for everything closing at 9pm, he obviously didn't look past his feet. Maybe they all closed their doors until he had walked past?:thumbsu:

Have been to most of the football grounds for away games - and have to say Aami is the only place I have genuinely worried for my familiy and my safety. Just full of stinking overweight ferals who feel the need to harass and physically threaten opposition supporters.

No one should have to worry about their safety to enjoy a football match.

(This was a crows game btw - can't comment on Port supporters but cann't imagine they are much better)

When they get so threatening over a football game you can imagine why it's still known as the "City of corpses/Murder capital"

For crying out loud, forget 97-98 you cant get it back and you did not deserve to get to a GF.

Nothing but over-exaggerations really.

I carry a bucket for my spit, as is the social norm.

well shit sorry, not all cities can have such a unique balance of queer eye for a straight guy contestants and surprise sex loving rugby playing douche bags as sydney. i was over there a couple of times last year and the locals weren't the most pleasant to deal with either.

maybe your friend should stop hanging around in the parklands at night and visit the actual CBD. the weirdest thing thats happened to me recently was a drunk girl trying to drag random people over to dance to a busking banjo player at 2am on a friday morning. i was then complemented and hugged by another chick for my decision to eat yiros.

The last time I was In Adelaide I saw a local in Rundle mall walking around with one shoe. I asked him if he lost one, he said "nah mate I found one"

I live in Adelaide, and I kinda like it most of them time. Spent 10 years travelling the world, settled back here 5 years ago, it's not so bad. If you judge a place by it's football fans, you really need to open your eyes.

Yeah I think its judged a bit harsh, its definately up there with Stawell.

I'm assuming you are worldly, well travelled individual who is qualified to pass judgement on the relative merits of various cities.

well its easy to tell adelaide people havnt been beyond the adelaide hills or kangaroo island

i was born in south africa-Port Elizabeth.

I've lived in Swan Hill, Reservoir, Richmond, Port Melbourne and now Newport so I think I can judge a shit hole when I see it.
