As far as I am concerned, it is the Brisbane and Fitzroy FC and I hope that the idea of playing in the Fitzroy guernsey for Melbourne games come in to fruition. I thought it looked great to see the Hawks v Fitzroy jumper this year.

King oath Ray! I'm wrapped to see the Fitzroy jumper is still getting used from time to time! It looks a lot better than the Brisbane jumper and pays tribute to the proud history of the Fitzroy FC. If only now we can get them to bring back the yellow shorts that they had for a while there it'll be all good! HAHA

You know, I'd love to see a University fan, especially on here, it would be a real treat to hear about some of the games from that era.

I like the idea of a Fitzroy board, they were everyone's second side, and played 2 games, in Tassie, that I got to see. :) From memory they lost both, one to West Coast, the other to Essendon.

...alright I will shut up now.:p

Nah no need to shut up. I also weould have loved to have picked the brains of University supporters. Imagine being a fly on the wall at matches in those times!

One thing I have always liked it hearing old footy stories, and the stories that can be told from the days of Uni until now would be a great treat for all AFL entheists. I haven't many memories of Fitzroy, when they died I was still in school. I did have some photos from the game they played against Essendon at North Hobart, I am going to have to hunt around and see if I can find them and scan them in.
 
Honestly guys.........as much as i repect your enthusiasm it really is time to move on........find yourselves another interest etc and move on...........if not you'll become a bigger laughing stock than u already are!!!

Aaaah the joy of reading the no-sayers being put in their place the day after the last Roy Boy retired.... almost put the smile back on my face...

Long live the Roys..

and BTW my 3 year old son sings the Fitzroy version of the song!!!

Also, I played against Otway Districts last weekend and Timmy Pekin pulled on the boots, still looks fit... Moves well still and took a screamer early which pumped up the crowd... Wasn't sorry we ruined his comeback by beating them!

Haha yeah those were the days! Probably the only other bloke that could hold a candle to the Malakelis bros would be the mighty Athos Hrysoulakis wouldn't it?

I always thought that Super Malakelis Bros. would have been an even more popular videogame than Super Mario Bros. Has a good ring to it!
 
After Brisbane won each of their three flags we cranked up Greg Champions 'Deep In Our Hearts Everyone Barracks For Fitzroy' at the pub and had the whole place going off! Some of the best nights of my life! The Roy-Boy spirit is still alive and kicking, it just doesn't have many reasons to celebrate these days!

SPIRO MALAKELIS!!!!!!!!!!!!...............i remember both the Malakelis boys (i think his bro's Tony??) playing for the Port Adelaide Magpies.........sure they played in a number of premiership teams.............very handy players i might add....:)

Why is it always the interstate pricks who come up with this shit?

Is it because they've never experienced a REAL club, with history and a culture? A brief run down, cocko;

FITZROY - A VFL/AFL club with 8 flags, 8 Brownlow medallists and over 100 years of history.

PORT POWER - A Johnny come lately franchise that was thrown together by the AFL to make more money.

Easily the worst supporters I have had the misfortune to run into.

Thankfully the Cats gave your lot a very decent touch up in the GF.

I don't know why you blokes even bother responding to the trolls. They're obviously just doing it to give you a rise.

If my club were swallowed by another one in the way yours was I'd still want a seperate home too. I think this forum's a great idea, even if it's not that busy.

Great work guys, as a Collingwood supporter i cop alot of shit for different reasons to you guys, but good on you for supporting your club still. (Thats right, its still a club). Scumhater and Power01, look up the definition of a club and its a legal entity similar to that of an association...just because they dont hold an AFL License doesnt mean the Fitroy Football club doesnt exist.

Personally, i think the AFL shafted you guys, could of done alot more to help. Look at what Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs and North get now. North could be another version of you guys though unfortunately.

Keep supporting your club, one day i hope to see you play in the VFL at least.
