Will Cogs be trade bait?

This is just a hunch, but I think Cogs may be trade bait this year. And there is a good chance he will be traded.

His body is battered, has struggled with injuries, kicking is questionable, and slow in pace and decision making.

Once touted as a future captain, Cogs was a fantastic talent a few years ago but injuries and loss of confidence has seen his star waning.

There would be plenty of clubs trying to get him too.

he's still young, courageous and talented. People don't forget how good he was before the injuries.

Then why don't we just keep him

Few clubs are going to be interested in a guy with his injury history - missed 25 games in 3 years. Few clubs are going to target someone coming off a knee. No one is going to offer us a good-value pick considering the state of his body.

Cogs isn't going to be too interested in going to a club in the bottom-6 considering the improvement he is seeing around him.

Any club that takes him on is hardly going to honour the lucrative contract he signed with us. He would probably have to take a pay cut to go somewhere else.

He can hardly go home. Freo and WCE are hardly crying out for midfielders.

Sydney like quick guys. Adelaide like guys who can run. His chances of finding a contending club interested in him are slim.

He is more value to us than most other clubs. Other than Johnson, Polo and Tuck we don't have much depth in the centre square.

He isn't untouchable, but he is practically untradeable.

Yes we are. McManus, Bell, COok aren't going to run around forever.

But, we could at least give up someone that won't improve anymore, I think Cogs can still improve, theres no point giving up a player if they still have potential.

What a load of rubbish. His 'star wasnt waning' before he did his knee, in fact he was becoming quite consistent before he went down.

I think Cogs is an extremley important and valued part of our side, but then again I dont put my dog down if she's a lil crook either.

Next year with Cogs, Tuck & Foley sharing the workload we will be much more efficient

I wouldn't expect anything to solid from Cogs next year, players often have an ordinary year after a knee opperation, 2008 is when we'll see the best of Cogs again, barring further injury.

August Last year

The idea that Cog's is not contributing at the moment is not my point. Infact he may win the Jack Dyer. My point is wether or not will we continue getting a contribution from him.
And thats something we do not know. Would we better off getting something for him now? or should we keep our figures crossed everytime he runs out on the field.

In away I'm playing devil's advocate and I would love to see Cog's finish his carreer at tigerland. But ......
