Yep. We were keen but must be pretty happy we dodged his crap.
Fev would be a much safer bet, atleast we know Fev can play and he hasn't broken any major laws from what i know.

Well at least he'd be kicking a decent Cloke in the nuts.![]()
Those who could be ok options for recycling:
O'Hailpin is interesting as a backup KPF since he can play now.
Mitch Farmer is solid if looking for a small defender.
Broc McCauley is a solid option as a no.2 ruckman.
Ben Ross is a very good ball user. Has nice pace. (outside mid - been a little unlucky with injury but put together a very good vfl season)
Jarryd Cachia as an inside mid is a very solid option.
That said I don't expect us to go down the recycle route. The only real fits for us who could be looked at are O'Hailpin, Farmer and McCauley. But with the salary cap situation and the fact these are more depth quality players considering the health of our list most likely we stick to drafting.

I rate the guy, call me stupid but he brings aggression to the table, is able to take turns in the ruck and he's actually not a bad kick for goal (considering), we could do a lot worse, gives 100% every time and i've seen him trouble more than one KB.
at carlton setanta was usually 1st or 2nd in the pecking order up forward (when he played) considering their lack of KPF. at collingwood he would be 3rd or even 4th in line during a game, drawing a low ranked defender and like leigh brown, given a variety of roles to fulfill, including brute.
if our fitness people could get hold of him and develop him, he might just have a role for 2 years.
I heard from a source within the club that, at the very least, we had preliminary talks with one, Andrew Lovett. If Leon had decided to retire, then I would maybe entertain the idea, but with the recruitment of Marty Clarke, and the fact that Leon is most likely staying on, I don't see this coming to fruition. But if it were to occur, I'd have to say I wouldn't mind it happening![]()
Setanta isn't a total spud. He kicked 4 goals on Reid (before he came good) last year & 4 on against St. Kilda recently.
Sentana is an ordinary forward and a poor ruck. He is worse at everything than Leigh Brown and Leigh Brown himself should have been replaced by Wood this year. I see no benefit in Sentanta. If we did need to call on that depth I'd rather play Keeffe and/or blood Whitts and/or use Cloke or Dawes in the ruck and play a mid sized forward - all better options than a bloke who has got to 28 with less quality games than Josh Fraser who we exited in order to win a flag.
A good mid sized forward is a much better option than a bad tall forward. If we lose Maccaffer & take Setanta I will be pretty peeved. We have better tall forward options than Carlton and they delisted him!
I'd be happy if we picked up Callum Wilson from the Eagles, would be good depth for KPF, even if a little undersized....
He's a spud & that is exactly what I thought of Leigh Brown at the end of 2008. As for Troy Talyor, Hine was very keen on him, there was quite a bit of information on Hine trying to recruit him in that 2009 book about Collingwood.
At 28 years old and with injury concerns (hammy torn off the bone Matty Lloyd style) he ain't worth it and he feels no need. Nathan Brown will be back, we have Reid, Tarrant and even Keeffe too. No need.
Troy Taylor would be interesting and humourous if we actually took him in the draft. Would make Richmond's blood boil for sure and apparently we did all the ground work to get him to nominate 2 years ago and were very keen. Would be a swifty if Hine took the punt.
