I am not sure how deep they will go, but if I were a Geelong supporter on BF my head would be spinning trying to keep up with all the threads about them.

The clubs don’t give a **** about eachother and never have if we are being honest. This is some fan made fake bs rivalry that would’ve already died off if not for this website

And there’s one bloke who has made 3000 posts in 6 months and 2600 of them are about Geelong.

Bigger choke than 2019?

I mean its not like this is the first time they have finished top of the ladder.

Lets hope they don't go out in straight sets.
Yes actually, it would be a much bigger choke than 2019.

In 2019 we were limping into the finals having started the year 11-1 and finished 5-5,

The top 3 were equal on wins and 4th was only 1 behind.

This year we are going in on a 13 game win streak and are 2 games clear on top.

Anything short of a Grand Final is categorically a failure, and anything less then a premiership would be disappointing.

Geelong will make The GF and the only team that could beat them is Melbourne.

Melbourne V Geelong granny. No idea who wins.

But Geelong should smash every other team.

Completely agree

They have a tailored rulebook that was written for them by Whateley and Hocking, so there's no excuses for them if they fail to win the premiership.

Right now, their club is saying there's no excuses and they're primed to win it all, but they say this every year, and when they inevitably fail, they always roll out a list of excuses.

Their current side isn't much different from the side they rolled out last year, apart from three key personnel changes:

Stengle in for Dahlhaus.
De Koning in for Henderson.
Holmes in for Higgins.

However, the same old names who go to water time and time again when the heat is on remain in the team, while their midfield lacks the cream that inevitably rises to the top in the pressure cooker of finals football, as we saw last year when Petracca and Oliver went into beast mode and Geelong's midfield couldn't go with them, along with the year before when Dusty went into beast mode and Geelong's midfield couldn't go with him.

Tom Atkins is being talked about by the Geelong supporters as being the solution to their midfield problems, and they're talking him up as being the next Joel Selwood, while forgetting that cream of the crop midfielders don't get selected in the rookie draft. They also forget that Atkins has been in their team for four years and the fact he didn't rise to the top when the midfield cream rose in recent finals.

Also, I doubt Tyson Stengle is going to win a premiership for Geelong off his own boot. He's been good in the home and away season, but you only have to look as far as his mentor, Eddie Betts, for an example of a quality small forward known to dominate the home and away season while struggling in finals.

Like I said though, Geelong's tailored rulebook written for them by Whateley and Hocking gives them a huge leg up, and despite the deficiencies in their team, the rulebook may just ride them all the way home this year.

Dribble. Pure and utter dribble.

I guess we will see. Not sure how Whately has affected any rules.

We don't mind people underrating Atkins, Stengle, SDK or Holmes. It doesn't affect the scalps they take each week.

I think it is a pretty lame shot at Eddie Betts though.

Considering his shoulder/arm has never recovered from when it got ripped off when he didn’t have the ball.

all true

The thing that isn't spoken enough is how poor their key players are in finals

Jeremy Cameron, Joel Selwood, Assists Hawkins, even Stewart, Gary Rohan, Dangerfield they all crap the bed in finals, year after year after year.

It's like they freeze when the pressure is on, and go to water

They should win it.
By far the best team and earnt the leg up by finishing first.
Would take a monumental effort to beat such a talented group.

Again, I just don't understand the narrative surrounding us at the moment.
Perhaps is it because I am naturally pessimistic and have often seen this team falter in recent times, but there are 3 or 4 teams who can win it. Sydney have a prodigious core of young talent on the verge of breaking out. A nice mix of veterans as well.
Melbourne can flick the switch and smother teams into oblivion. Only need Max Gawn to play a couple of blinders and they win those games.

Geelong may just do enough to get past Collingwood but then comes the issue of more rest. One game played in a month is not ideal for this club in particular.

Another member of the ‘used a car exhaust as a cigarette’ brigade joins the fray 😂😂😂

Given that Geelong fans, in Geelong threads, need to be subjected to this ‘but the stand rule did to Richmond what Hitler did to European minorities woe is us boo hoo hoo’ bullshit from tigers fans who really aren’t doing anything to destroy any of the stereotypes about them, and we generally offer a response or an explanation.

At some point are those same people going to stop ignoring that one of the major rule changes in recent years was called ‘the Blicavs rule’ not because it was conceived by a Czech logistics expert in a lab in Prague but because it was named after a Geelong player?

Geelong supporters are delusional. I've seen them compare Mark Blicavs to Adam Goodes, because like Goodes, Blicavs can play any position on the ground.

Also, it's easy for those blokes you mentioned to take scalps when they're playing by a rulebook written to directly advantage the club they play for. How would those blokes go if they had to play by the same rulebook of 17 other clubs?
