Sydney FC, WSW, CCM, Newcastle- that's 4/10. Not that far off 10/18, but what does that matter anyway?
Half the teams in the league travel more that others which isn't necessarily evil. It's just how we have to live given the circumstances of the AFL.

Played the games at Westpac stadium in Wellington which is a small ground. Mad for messy, very boring games

anyway no chance of a NZ side.. Aussie rules just doesn't appear on any radars. The American sports are next cab off the rank after the Rugbys, Football and Cricket

Mind you I did read an article about global warming where they thought it could create climate refugees in Australia and that a number of them would go to New Zealand

Basketball is quite strong in NZ.

As far as climate goes, we're getting more big islanders down here to get away from the lengthening & hot summers.

WHAT MISLEADING ARGUMENT???

Please, back up your claim.
The ability of Tassie to host a team bears zero impact by population of other states.
This is disingenuous and misleading .
Comparing tassie population to other states does not reflect the states abilty to host a side.
Using a comparative population is stupidity and makes no sense. Population of other states will not impact tassies abilty to host a team.
So many factors involved and you chose one misleading aspect.

So, you're delusional, and you think that means I'm misleading?

Facts are still facts, even if you don't like them.

Raising the requires $45M/year (I believe that's the figure Gil quoted a while back) to support a team has EVERYTHING to do with population and the local economy.

What is happening in other states bears no influence on how a Tassie team could establish itself. FACT.
You are trying too frame the argument to suit your misleading comments. FACT.
Your holding on to the argument , it’s bigger economy elsewhere .....
Does not matter , tassie is a state in growth and is more than capable of having a team.
if the AFL spent the funds a la GC , GWS, SFC, it would happen with ease.
Numpty!

Telsor is the kind of stupid, arrogant mainlander which would unite every Tasmanian to fully support a true Tassie team.

Would love to prove him wrong, but sadly we have more stupid arrogant mainlanders at AFL HQ.

I hope they do go to New Zealand and throw more money away. I love seeing egg on the face at AFL HQ.

What would their name be?

Already taken are all blacks, tall blacks, silver ferns, black sticks, black ferns, kiwi ferns, wheel blacks, all whites, football ferns, black sox, iron blacks, ice blacksm ice fernz.

Maybe the Wellington Aussie Ferns?

Auckland Awkwards
New Zealand Jakethemusses
Dunedin Underarms

Can’t see another team being established for a long time.

Until either GWS or the Suns preferably both start to become more self reliant, rather than still relying on the AFL to support them.
Until such times they can establish a strong core base of supporters, administration staff, sponsors, and the clubs are making money from other ventures, than there is no point in looking to expand. This also extends to other “established” clubs that also continue to receive support from the AFL in order for their sustainability. Too many clubs are sucking at the teat on the AFL at the moment, which makes the AFL dry.

Why they placed 2 clubs in such hard afl demographics was greedy, naive and stupidly arrogant as it was ignorant. Place one club there, no issue, you know it’s going to take a while, for off field success, the other club should have been another established region that wasn’t going to be fighting to get initial support.

All clubs receive on distributions from the AFL. There might be a couple that could survive without them.

As long as WC never have to play them there. You think we complain about having to trouble to Melbourne, can you imagine how unbearable it will get if Melbourne is just the stop over?

You keep talkign about these misleading comments, but can't point them out....Disagreeing with your delusions doesn't make me misleading.

GC, GWS, etc are there to GROW THE GAME, and that's why they get funded...The hope being that one day, they will both support themselves and contribute positively to the whole (in other words, it's an investment). A Tas team wouldn't do that, it would just be a drain on the league, which would get worse as time goes on.

Using facts you don't like is stupid and arrogant....Well, that pretty much does summarise the Tas team bid, doesn't it.

A hint for you...Not liking the truth doesn't make it a lie.

So full of s**t. Change the subject again. You said tassie was not growing as much as other states. So what!! IT IS GROWING! Still is while mainland states are now in decline . Housing market growing against national trends which are receding.

Explain how a mainland economy will prevent tassie from having a prosperous AFL team.?????
Just explain why you judge tassie abilty to succeed while comparing to other states?? Makes no sense.
Tassie can succeed regardless of what is happening in other states.
Just answer the question numpty????

The longer Tassie goes without a team, the less likely it is they'll ever get one.

Relatively speaking, they're shrinking (population and economically), and so as time goes on they become a less and less viable market.

Wait 25 years, and they'll be next to no chance.
How does relatively speaking even play a part in tassies abilty to succeed. Tassie is growing . Mainland is receding.
Full of s**t.

So New Zealand should never have a home game against West Coast? That's ridiculous.
