The Freo game will be the decider IMO, GWS have already checked out and if we are on a streak again I think we take care of the hawks that being said realistically I think we only need to win 2 more games

Feels like the equation is much simplified after this round.

Basically, I reckon it's us, Richmond or StKilda for the 8th spot.

Richmond have Brisbane (H), Port (A), Hawthorn, Essendon

Reckon they're slight favourites in the last 2 but, on current form, probably winning 2 at best.

That would get them to 46 points.

StKilda have Hawthorn, Geelong, Brisbane and Sydney.

They probably win 1 of those but would be outsiders in the other 3.

2 more wins get them to 48 points and a % of just over 100.

Should that play out, 2 more wins gets us in, 3 would make it a very high probability.

We would be outsiders v Geelong, Freo at Marvel now looks a near 50/50 and GWS and Hawthorn are winnables.

Reckon our chances are better than 50/50.

Yep. Pretty charmed run with Richmond dropping points everywhere, you wouldn't have had us ahead of them at this stage following our game v Sydney.

Brisbane are not in great form and haven't won at the MCG since Jesus was a lad, so fully expecting the placings to flip again. We're potentially 10th by the end of the round.

The other team to watch is the Blues.

Adelaide are very capable of pulling out a big performance at home. If they can beat the Blues this week that puts them under pressure. With games against Lions (A) Demons and Pies to come.

Not at all out of the question they lose all 4. They aren't travelling that well the last month. That GWS side they played on the weekend was awful. No Kelly, Green, Hogan, Whitfield, Perryman.

We would then only need to win 2 more and catch up 5% to stay ahead of them.

We’ll know more this weekend, if they beat Richmond at home we are in trouble. If they lose it really puts us in the best position

Other than last year where we faltered towards the end, it’s a constant theme of Bevo’s teams that they take way too long to get going. 2019 & 2020 saw us with strong late season form to sneak into the finals as well. It’s quite frustrating.

Other than last year where we faltered towards the end, it’s a constant theme of Bevo’s teams that they take way too long to get going. 2019 & 2020 saw us with strong late season form to sneak into the finals as well. It’s quite frustrating.

It does seem like we find our best mix and sort of stick to the basics with it in the 2nd half of the year, then come round 1 everything we learnt about our team selection seems to get thrown out of the window again and we get all the weird & wacky selections, like we’ve just completely forgotten what works and mostly what doesn’t, from the year before
