Ive got us 7th with a Brisbane win, but only cos its at the SCG

does anyone know who plays who from 5-8

I don't think we can beat Collingwood. We've produced the same tripe for over the past 4 matches against them, and we lose it in the same fashion.

I hope we win against Brisbane. At least the supporters can go out and watch a finals game at home, given in 2007 we didn't play at home.

I don't think he meant in terms of finals, he meant in terms of the current 5-8 who plays who.

Lets face it, we aren't going to win this year. Sure, we go as hard as we can, but we'd have to beat one of either the Hawks, Doggies or Cats to get into the Grand Final, and face one of the three that we didn't face to get there.

I say just accept that and see how far we can go, I reckon we're still in the running for 4th and could pull it off if Carlton upset North tomorrow, because I can see the Saints over runing the Crows next week.

I reckon we'll finish 5th; we should get over an out of form Collingwood, and then bring it home at the SCG.

and how is it that Collingwood are out of form with last 2 strong wins. they will towel us for sure next week as they have the last 2 years, sorry to say.

Oh, ok, sorry, thought everyone knew that.

Ending up 5th might work out better for us, because it gives us a home Elim against probably the Saints or Lions, and then sets us up for probably an away against the Roos, which we'll probably lose, but at least it gets us into the heart of September.

I'd rather an away loss to end our finals than a home to be honest, I'd hate to travel out to the game with high hopes only to see them crumble.

Though a loss to the Cats first week of finals could see us up against the Saints at home, which we'd win and get us through to a prelim, so you never know.

5th plays 8th @ 5th's home ground
6th plays 7th @ 6th's home ground

We MUST beat Collingwood next week. Otherwise it's season over. :( :(

probably better to finish 5th or 6th than 4th, and play either St K or Bris at home than Cats at Cattery, get away with a good win and get some confidence back. But that is a long way off at this stage.

Not really, only two weeks.

I actually thought we should have tanked Round 22 last year, would have given us a much more winnable elimination final than a Pies match.

I thought we were doing OK until Moore and Crouch got injured,Crouch had a sensational 1st quarter,10 possies I think they said.I hope they both recover quickly.
Malceski and Fozzie will be better for the run also.
Even though we got thrashed I thought we did play good footy in patches.

I thought we played good footy throughout, Geelong just played that much better. Sure there were a few turnovers, but not nearly as many as against the Bulldogs. I think we're a real chance against Collingwood.

Against Collingwood may depend on how the umps view it. I watched the Collingwood v Port game and what stood out the most is that Collingwood are tackling the guy before he has the ball in close and the umpires just let them get away with it. The tight pressure has worked against the Swans over and over. If the umpires pull these tactics up then the swans are a chance.

biggest obstacle is mental. a loss is a loss, even against the cats, its not like we ever got close. players also know they havent beaten a top 6 side all year and collingwood is a bogey side. We'll only win if the pies play bad. I'll give you 20/1 for a Swans win.

Basically, apart from 15 mins in the first quarter and 10 or so in the third, we pretty much matched them, but in those periods they showed why they'll win the flag again
just too good
We went quite well, although Fosdike showed how rusty he was.
One of Jolly's worst of the season, and O'Keefe seems to get tied up pretty easily these days
And Luke Ablett works hard but his disposal remains awful

i go to match with family i think we do really well against best team in land i proud to become swan fan:thumbsu:

If we lose to Collingwood next week then hopefully we lose to Brisbane cause i don't want to go into the finals and get knocked out first round again like last season. I know im talking negativly but you get nothing out of getting knocked out first round of finals and we would get a better draft pick if we didn't make it.

Oh, and Heath Grundy again looked lost ... not sure if it's playing in defence, or just playing at senior level, that causes him such trouble.

If the match was at the M.C.G I think Collingwood would win by 5 goals But remember that the Game is at Telsra Dome and Collingwood do not play well at the Dome.

It is extremly important for the Swans to get off to a good start because Telstra Dome is expecting a Crowd of 50,000 to the Game and with 45,000 being Collingwood fans.

The game should of been played at the MCG as in round 21 2007 over 63,000 saw the pies win!
