Disappointing effort from Tomic, just looked like he was too good to be out there or something, although he always comes across that way. He really should have beaten goffin he is nothing special.
Perhaps its time for tomic to consider a real coach, surely someone has got to teach him to stop camping feet behind the baseline and to come in and finish points off quicker.

f*** me the courts look slow this year. tomic probably should've won, but i have played on quicker clay courts than what i was seeing tonight. i don't think goffin is that bad. he took it up to fed for a bit this year. tomic still lacks concentration for a long period. in juniors the 20-30 min lapses weren't that costly. now they lose matches

Tomic will never amount to anything and be an even bigger waste of talent than Whiney The Poo. Bookmark it.

Goffin played well but that court did seem to be playing particularly slowly, which suited his game.

Oh please Tomic deserved it, standing 5 metres behind the baseline and he wonders why he lost...

Tsonga wins. Hewitt had a good dig, tsonga saved by his serve on countless occassions, didnt get a look in on many break point chances.

Haha Benoit Paire is such a mental basketcase if anyone is watching him v Ebden.

Yeah watched about 70% of that game (see the dude with the tiges guernsey? lol) and he was. Piss funny when he smashed the ball out of the court..

Gotta say anyone who loves tennis and hasn't been to Wimbledon yet.. get along. Such a great day.. and I didn't even get to the show courts. There is a chance to get into the show courts in the arvo by buying re-sell tickets however, which if I went again I would definitely try around 3pm to get them.. the line was massive by the time we got there after the Dellacqua match (5:15pm-ish).

One thing I don't understand is Bernie admitting to not working hard enough. People have been saying this for ages, and he just figures it out now?? I am a fan but he needs a kick up the rear end from someone to get him going. I'm pretty sure Philipousis had also acheived more than him at this stage of his career as well, so we shouldn't even compare the two yet. Nothing can emulate match practice, of which Goffin has pleanty, so when Bernie has not won more than two matches in a row since Jan and even only doing that twice, the surface becomes irrelevant. One could see this comming from a mile off. His passive game style is seemingly like his mindset.

tsonga: yes it was a win over hewitt (who frankly i think would struggle to win some state grade tennis at the moment) but he gave hewitt nothing last night, that forehand was enormous. put him down as a roughie. like the french most of the current crop have tremendous potential but always seem to have one s*** match which bundles them out while in others they look very fancy.

bernie: looks to struggle with the attained pressure of a country on his shoulders now. looked unsettled after the first set and didn't play like he did at the aus open this year or wimbledon last year. he seemed to make many mistakes that were picked up easily by the commentators, surely it wouldn't hurt to have a woodbridge or such as a professional analysis. this is also his first time he has had a full year so far on the atp, players would start to work him out but i am still optimistic he has what it takes to be a top 15-20 player. would need to string a good 3-4 months to lift his image for me.

ebden: looks to be a top 100 battler who will make a living from tennis although lacks the weapons do make severe in roads.

barty: already posted on another forum but if this girl can grow and get stronger she will be pretty good. she can match it with anyone outside the top 100 but in this modern game will need a few years to develop.

Lisicki looks a little overweight for a tennis player for mine. Her legs are tree trunks and then some...

But then again, Serena has done alright hasn't she? o_O

Yeah watched about 70% of that game (see the dude with the tiges guernsey? lol) and he was. Piss funny when he smashed the ball out of the court..

lol, I actually did see you on the coverage. Ebden's form was disappointing in the first couple of sets, too many loose errors, Paire has got some talent but was a bit flaky out there.

Disappointing night last night for the Aussies but not really surprising, tough draws for Casey and Ash, Barty looks to have a lot of talent and had her chances in that match, going to be very interesting to see how she develops, the game is there just has to build power and experience. Hewitt played alright, Tsonga just played better on the big points saving all those break points with the big serve, Lleyton didn't have the same luxury.

Tomic's press conference says it all doesn't it, he knows what he is doing wrong and he is not doing it, the guy needs a proper coach.
