Aston Villa,
wow he suprised me today...

he hs really come on...done a bit of a watson style rejouvination over the preseason...

runs hard all day...great dash of pace....uses it well....i didnt have him in my bes 22 at the startof the year but my god i cant see us lining up without him now....

how f%#%in great is it seeing winda, lovett, davey, and jetta run through the corridor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the future is reeeeeeeeaaalll promising...

As much as i have always appreciated his run and how hard he works, i have always had something in the back of my mind that still questioned him making it.

One of those things was his disposal and the other was probably just a gut feeling.

Well his disposal this pre season and the 2 real games has been fantastic.

He can actually spear a pass now, which means those runs form the back half will be far more punishing now.

Grats Winders and you are now an important part of our team.

Hes come out of nowhere, certainly proved me wrong in the process.

In his past 4 games (2 of which where prior to a severe injury) hes averaged about 20 touches and 8 marks.

is starting to really put it together now.

i must admitt i was one that didnt think he would make it as he always seemed too small and his kicking was not the best.

ful credit to him he has been great and played his best game for the club today. Got my 3 votes!

Some players take longer to mature and come good. That's the beauty of Sheeds he knows that and is patient.

Like I have read this is the break out season for Monfries. Maybe so but it could be 2008 or 2009 before we see the best of him. Some supporters are too impatient. In 1993 they all came played top footy at once and look at the result.

Well done Winders.

Always rated him ;)

That one bit of the play on the wing, in either the 2nd or 4th (I can't remember, I just remember which end it was going to), where he had about 3 possessions was just brilliant. Great to see he's got the fitness and confidence to back himself now.

he showed signs last year before breaking his leg.

it's good to see he is rewarding the club after we have shown faith in him

he has finally got the confidence to run with the ball

Good to see him coming along quite nicely.

Today's game is the type of game he needs to produce consistently.

A few people have given him votes but I didn't think he was that good.

Lets hope Dyson can do the same in the next few weeks.

Was never a doubt in my mind...have always sung his praises. If he can hold his spot in our side, he'll provide a formidable combination with Stanton and Lovett dashing through the middle at any given opportunity.

Winderlich was very good today. Now just need Dyson to do the same.

Dyson is very soft and hangs out. Not to say he wont make it but he doesn't appear much closer today than he was 12 months ago.

Don't forget anonther pace machine in Courtney Dempsey is still to come.

Add NLM and JJ and things look even better.

Totally agree with that.

Dyson & Winderlich have been at the club for a few years now. Therefore they should be the best "prepared" of our young midfielders to step up this season. It's unfair to expect first and second year players like Dempsey to hold down a regular spot in the midfield.

If Dyson & Winderlich don't make it then we have to wait for the likes of Dempsey, Lonergan, Hislop, Houli, Jetta, etc to develop which wouldn't be for the best interest of the club.

I wouldn't say he has come out of no where. He was playing quite well before he broke his leg last year and i have seen him spear passes quite a few times. Hopefully he can stay injury free and continue to show us what he is capable of.

I've always been keen on Winders because he has great pace and is a beautiful kick of the footy. The last 4 or so years has always been under a bit of an injury cloud, and has struggled to cement a spot in the team because we were at one stage a 'Finals Footy' team. Also, the fact that Sheeds went through a stage where he played young blokes for less than half a game, and because they didnt really have an impact, dropped them the next week.

Winders has improved on the field because during the off season he took a leaf out of Jobe's book and worked on his fitness during the off season (particularly his running capacity) and now ranks up there with Stants in that department. Throughout the preseason and the last 2 weeks, he's ran his guts out to create space and to provide his teammates with first use of the footy, and he's tackling more and getting in and under the packs (something which he didnt really do).

He's cemented his spot as a pivotal part of our future and hopefully will dash through the midfield and deliver the footy lace out to Scotty and Lloydy on the lead! Well done Jason and Go Bombers:thumbsu:

He is...watched him closely for a while yesterday at training. He glides along the turf and unleashes his kicks at full pace...straight as a die.

Great young player:thumbsu:

Question but....on 3AW on sunday, they were pronouning his name Wunderlick, without being smart or anything, they sounded serious!

Its not said like that is it???
