Does anyone know what is wrong with Henderson and how long he is out for? Ive heard its some sort of knee injury but i havent seen any report about it anywhere.

According to the paper today

Scott Thompson - test
Greg Gallman - 2 weeks
Rory Sloane - 5 weeks
Brett Burton - Midseason

Considering they also said thommo is a certainty, when was the last time we only had 3 people on an injury report :O

Crows Injury List

Brett Burton (knee): Indefinite.
Greg Gallman (collarbone): May be ready to play this week.
Rory Sloane (knee): Medial strain (4 weeks approx).
Scott Stevens (hamstring): Test
Will Young (hamstring): Test
Trent Hentschel (knee): TBC

Rookie James Moss had hip surgery three weeks ago and will be out for two months.

Henderson still isn't listed  I don't understand it.

Then again, neither is Chris Knights.

Chris Knight is listed in the Advertiser as indefinite.

I saw on the Freo board that Jay van Berlo isn't listed on their injury list and he's a rookie, so maybe they don't list rookies there any more?

Moss got a mention.

I sent an email to the AFC.com.au website last thursday.

Hello,

I was wondering whether Henderson is injured or not? I have noticed he has been absent from the injury lists posted on AFC.com.au but whenever I’ve been to training he has only being jogging and has not played in any SANFL matches.

Thanks,
Michael

I got back the following reply this morning:

Hi Michael

Ricky was injured but has been right to train in the last week or two. He hasn’t been on the track because we have allowed him to do some training with his SANFL club Central District. But at the moment he is right to play for Central’s this week.

Kind Regards

So I guess there's our answer. He was injured, and since overcoming his injury he's been training with Centrals and should play this week.

Great work cmndstab, it’s great to have that finally cleared up. :thumbsu: I wonder why he hasn't been training with the AFC, normally when they release them to their SANFL club it's due to off field indiscretions is it not?

Anyway with that news I am seriously considering going to head down to Hamra Homes Oval early on Saturday to catch him in the reserves.

Usually, but you get the feeling with Henderson and also Donnelly, the mother of all long term project players it may have been judged that letting them find their feet at SANFL level may be advantageous and by having them get to know their team mates and game plans better may help their development?

And be honest, you just want to see Young and Kite:p

Yeah for sure, and don't rookies tend to mainly train with their SANFL club? Unless of course they're close to promotion.

And Norwood are playing on Friday. ;) Central v South is on Saturday, but I'm keen to see Henderson and then I might as well stay for the league game as Cook and McKernan will be in action. The game will be televised though...

Yep, and you'd have to say in the unlikely event we promote a rookie tomorrow it'll be Schmidt or Martin!

And my bad:o I've been looking forward to the Norwood North match too! I'll make a note to get down to it early and catch the two's game:thumbsu:

Interestingly, no mention of Schmidt's shoulder injury as reported on BF. Given that he's been selected in the SANFL State team you have to wonder whether someone was feeding us a line...

They reported on the ABC broadcast of the Norwood/West game that Schmidt injured his shoulder at training on Wednesday and they weren't expecting to hear good news.
