Would be a delicious irony if Trump's war in Iran was the domino that leads to Bryson DeChambeau losing his big LIV contract.
Bryson is a winner out of this. There was every chance this was his last year with LIV. He’s already made his bank.

He’s one of the few who will waltz straight back onto the PGAT after paying a fine. They might make it a bit tougher than it was for Brooks but not much.

And if there’s any trouble with the PGAT, your mate Don will sort things out for Bryson

Will go mental. Would be grouse if a few more jumped in with Rors.
Guaranteed lockout.
Feel for the members guys, and what they have to give up for this event.

Thoughts and prayers 😉

So business as per usual until seasons end. Which is also bad for LIV. Sounds like an email from a company resigned to its fate.

They are surely finished. This rumour didn’t come from nowhere. Confidence is everything. And that just disappeared. Just like a run on a bank.

No rational player would now jump to Liv without a massive sign on. And you’d want the cash paid on signing.

I dont feel that LIV players will be welcomed back to PGAT with open arms. You just have to look at the geopolitical climate and high tensions around the middle east most recently. The average sloppy joe in the USA will equate the LIV players (Americans) as traitors and sympathisers with Islam.

The average sloppy joe in the US barely knows golf exists. There's only one US player on LIV that carries any weight and that's Bryson who was on stage with Don. He's a true patriot.

The PGAT only cares about its product. And that product is weakened if they cant claim to have the best players. My guess is Rahm and Bryson will be given an immediate way back. The others will go the way of Reed - year off from last LIV tournament then play your way back via DP, etc.

100%. The fact they let it go on this long without denying it would surely indicate this. Emergency meetings in New York as well. Lets say its not true, no player in their right mind would stay on. Imagine if this were your workplace? You'd be eyeing the exits and finding something more secure.

Interesting reading that a few weeks ago and apparently at Augusta recently that Scott O'Neil was saying LIV was funded until 2032. Now he states it is to the end of this year?

I was skeptical about that wrapping it up after the Mexico event about to start but end of 2026 more likely.

Also appears LIV Golf might not be the only venture PIF are weighing up.

LIV has been a disaster for golf in general.

The only good things about it (IMO) was their focus on tournaments around the world, which is a long overdue change to the PGAT but will now not be an issue with LIV's demise.

And letting players wear shorts like normal people. That was a great idea.

That being said, the demise of a middle eastern backed tour would bring delight especially if the media can parlay it into advantage

LIV has created waves and discussion around the world. And agree that bringing the game to the rest of the world (growing it), and giving youngsters something to do, access to, has been a benefit that in some cases cannot be measured. Concerts post rounds is a side thing that I myself am not interested in but the youth today are.

It's created discussion amongst the golf world. Outside of that, no one cares. Their viewing numbers have been terrible from the start. Their draw on the Fox network was getting similar numbers to AFL games broadcast over there in the middle of the night.

90% of LIv's hype was bot's is my guess. I get why it was reasonably popular in Australia (because you got a tournament) but most people saw it for what it was.

From leaving the PGAT for bags of Saudi cash, to now striking because they are not getting paid. Delicious.

Not sure how true this is though. Hoping it is.
Certainly sounds true. The CEO is in a shizen position. Has to assure everyone that things are ok. But really, everything is dependent upon handouts from the PIF. Which clearly aren't coming as required given players aren't getting paid.

If I was a player(or their agent), I'd be working the phone pretty hard to see what chance a DP/PGA return was and getting lawyers to see what my termination rights might be.

Absolutely they should be.
