I thought i would throw this in to hear of others experiences they have had at the G.

My worst experience was driving 2.5 hours to the MCG queens birthday 2009,took 45 minutes to find a park, spent over 230 bucks on reserved seats in the olympic stand for my 3 kids and mouth-peice,getting pissed on by the gods above for 3 quarters, listening to the Feral, brain dead comments flow from the mouths of the collingwood feral clan, and then driving home 2.5 hours and getting a speeding fine at Melton doing 116km in a 110 zone........very bad day

Very funny bets,

not too sure on this one, but i remember around 10 years ago my dad and i were coming back home from torquay and the dees were playing a preseason game at kardinia park so i pleaded to him if we could stay and watch it...he accepted. So we got some lunch, i dropped my pie! and then headed to the ground. We were waiting for and hour or so and the game shuld of started. Of Course it didnt because we refused to play because the ground was too wet or some crap like that, so the game was relocated to waverly on another day!

I was one of the 400 who went to Waverley that Monday..

Nothing can ever beat losing to Essendon in '92 after being 46 points in front after kicking the first goal of the last quarter. I've never gotten over that.

Melbourne vs Geelong in 2005 was pretty depressing. It's interesting that no one has mentioned the 2000 grand final yet. Maybe it was just so inevitable?

Having Lucas (my most hated player on my most hated [sometimes] team) kicking that goal with 4 seconds left, sitting amongst a-hole Essendon fans who'd been cooing over lucas and Lloyd all night. Me and my brother were very unhappy with that one.

Yeah that was probably one of the more depressing ones, considering what we did to them 3 weeks prior. ;)

Mine is a little on the different side, its the farewell game for Troy Broadbridge, the stuff on the screen before that game started and what the 2 clubs did before and after is nothing short of amazing and i don't think there was a dry eye in the ground

Definetelty Dano's last game, I cried pretty hard after that...ahh the ignorance of thinking he was good...

It would have to be round 1 last year - drove all the way back from Mt Gambier to get to the G as the ball was bounced...

Oh and yes, like the Beton, I got booked outside of Hamilton.

wasnt at the game but watched as a youngster, an ansett cup semi final i think it was, out at waverly against st kilda way back in 1998.
the wiz kicked 3 or 4 goals in 5 minutes but we still lost, was devestated.

Other than that though the 2005 Geelong final was pretty bad as was Essendon in 04.

As for the 2000 one, I think everyone know that was on the cards.

I should mention the reason the game got called off is because the sprinklers came on in the terrace end forward line and wrecked that part ground. They toyed with roping the area off and creating the most ludicrously shaped ground in history but decided against it.

I can't for the life of me remember getting a refund for the game though. Maybe the chance to do a basically abandoned Waverley on a Monday night was our reward? I'm glad to have been a handful to take the opportunity - we did get flogged though. I'm pretty sure that was one of the years where the pre-season cup was a round-robin setup.

Now that I'm not writing on an f'ing phone I'd like to also nominate the following,

* Seeing John Longmire kick 14 in a 125+ point massacre at one of the first games I ever went to.
* The Essendon fiasco. Glenn Lovett kicked the first goal of the last quarter for fux sake. Paul Salmon kicked his 7th on the siren to win it for them - unbelievable.
* Drawing with the rubbish Sydney team in '92 on the auspicious occasion of Wayne Lamb's debut
* Having to do a runner from the top deck of Waverley in 1999 after saying something moderately offensive (no, let's be honest HIGHLY offensive) to a St Kilda fan
* Almost getting decked by a Footscray fan at Optus Oval in '99 when he decided that somehow a conversation completely unrelated to him was somehow insulting.
* Every time they played Nothing Beats the Footy at the MCG four times at every quarter break in '98/99.
* Losing by a point to North in 2000 and punching a half constructed seat at the back of TD so furiously that I cut my hand to shreds
* Losing at the Gabba and sleeping in a rental car on an industrial estate because I'd forgot to book a hotel room in advance and some international rugby bollocks was in town the same night
* Losing in Adelaide and having to spend 5hrs in the airport because I'd been moderately conservative in my booking of a return flight.

And one that I wasn't there for - losing to Sydney at the SCG in '93 to stop their massive losing streak. I remember it being Round 13 because all year I'd been talking it up like it was going to be the best match ever - before instantly copping hell at school the next day for the result.

Furthermore in a totally non-game related moment Allen Jakovich (along with one of the Febey brothers) came to my school for a footy clinic early in '91 a couple of weeks before he got back in the side and ran riot. He was an absolute arse and had no interest whatsoever. Then he starts kicking bags left, right and centre and became my favourite player of all time.

was anyone here at the '99 freo game when they won their first ever match at the mcg and modra went berserk and kicked 10 ?

The QB this year.

I was just crushed. Oh and ND's last game where we choked and lost to a goal with 4 seconds left.

I don't usually get too emotional but, I will admit... that game hurt me in sooo many ways. Couldn't beleive we lost that game. So sad.

Yea i was, my family and I have been going to the footy since 1996, so we've since the good, the bad and the ugly.

The worst would be 1996 centery game between Melbourne vs. Geelong...Gary Ablett snr kicked 11 goals.

2003 Melbourne vs. Geelong Friday night rivalry round (round 19 i think) we got threashed and get 5 goals for the game and 3 of those in the last 5 minutes...cameron hunters debut.

After the siren sounded i went to the now old players race to vent my frustrations on Daniher and some of the players. Nietz lead them off i was standing next to a bloke who gave nieta an almighty spray, nieta then spat at him, missed the guy but got me on my shoulder.

The next day i kicked the winning goal after the siren for my local club...most of been good luck!

Yes, and without a word of a lie I uttered the words "Don't kick ten goals" to him before the game when some bimbos asked me to take a photo of them with him. Pff no thanks.

I dont have one yet :D

I live in regional NSW, so it takes me 8 hours for us to drive to Melbourne anyway. BUT, every SINGLE Demons game i have been to in the last 3 years, about 6, they have won :D:D

Never been to a game where the mighty Demons have lost. Most recently is The West Coast game, where Grimes dominated the back line. We went down on a footy trip with the club and i was the only Dees supporter on the bus apart from my dad, so i got to stick it to all the other kids XD

2002 Semi-Final v Adelaide. Fantastic game. Both teams scored over 100 points. Yze and Johnstone were both on fire. Adelaide got over us in the last quarter. Reaaaly felt like we had this one won. oh well.

what made it even worse was all of the toothless crow supporters jeering at us as we left the ground. I’ll never forget or forgive. Oh dearie dearie me they do need help over there.

Mate, that's awesome. Can you go to every game next year?

That's the one I was thinking of too. From memory we were getting flogged early, fought back to be in front at 3/4 time and were over-run in the last. I don't think I've been as emotionally exhausted after a game...although Danihers last game was close.

Once I had to do a number 2 at half time of the Melb v Richmond clash in '06 - just couldnt wait.

Shouldve checked the toilet paper roll before I started - absolute school boy error.

Anyway panic set in when I realsied there was no toilet paper but luckily I wore my explorer extra thick woolen socks that day and I used them.

Had pretty cold feet for the rest of the day, subsequently caught a cold and had to buy a new pair of socks as well.

Probably my worst experience at a Dees game.

Now that I think about it... I was at that game. Didn't know it was Freo's first win but.
