Just read that Browny has been named Vice Captain (behind James Hird) in the Australian team to play Ireland, which got me thinking: Would he make a good captain at the RFC?

He is a very consistant contributor, and i'm sure he could handle the responsibility. IMO, he'd be a Shane Crawford type captain, which i think is acceptable as long as the job is getting done every week.

Another thing, if he was announced captain (I still think Johnson will be though), would anybody be upset at the decision??

I think he would make a very good captain, and maybe with plough there now, he might pick brown

yeh i think he'd be a good captain but i think someone else like johnson cogs or bowdo should get a chance first because hes only played one season with the club.

Yep, I agree.

Either Johnson, Coughlan or Bowden should get the go ahead before Brown does.

Not Bowden.

Johnson will be captain it seems but Cogs would be the better choice imo. Still young, fantasic player to led us over the re-building years .

However im a bit worried the kid doesnt need the extra presure.

I love cogs as a player but i dontn think he would be a good captain. My mum works at the club with the young guys including cogs working on their speech development and how to handle to media and he has a poor attitude apparently.(too cool for school if you get what i mean). Someone who wont be captain next year but i could see him down the track is bret hartigan. Great atitude towards the tigers and ever enthusiatic

Brown would be good in the leadership group but not as the number one man.

I rekon joel bowden for captain with brown and johnson his deputies.

If i were u guys id give it to Cogs or risk loosing him when his contract runs out, we'll be presing hard for him in a few years and if he's not captain were a big show to get him.

cheers!
Not quite sure which way your going TOO, Johnno for 2-3 years as captain and then Cogs? Or Johnson would only have 2-3 years as captain before he retires/gives it up as opposed to giving it to Cogs next year and then he should have it for 6 or 7 years?

Sorry for confusion grasshopper :D
Jonno to be the next capt for 2-3yrs then hand it over to Cogs who inturn will have it for the next 6-7.

cheers!

I agree with 'Tiger of Old';

Give it to Johnson for two years, let Coughlan get injury free and find his best form, and then hand the reigns over...
