Would you name your child after a footy player?

really depends on how common the name is, but.. no.. i wouldnt go outta my way to name a kid after a player...

I've always liked the name Chad.

I've grown to like the name Jaxon, but I never grew to like the person!

Damon is a good name too.

* Chad [Cornes], Jaxon [Crabb] (former Power rookie) and Damon [White] (yet to make his long awaited debut). I just think the names are nice, like you said, I wouldnt go out of my way to name a kid after one of these players deliberately.

If I was lucky to have a boy or 2, I would definately name them after my favourite footy players. I have already picked them out too, mostly SANFL players names though. However in saying that - I did always love the name Ben after the amazing & best player that lives Ben Hart.

I remember a mate of mine who used to support West Coast had a dog with a black coat, so he called him Lewie, after Chris Lewis.

If you get a cat or a dog call it Roo after Peter Matera.

it's injury prone and what's worse is that I kicked the footy over his head the other day and the bloody dog swore at me then refused to chase after it.
