What about my slab then? Sure, I can buy one for $5 now, but in two weeks time I can buy one and have $15 change; whereas if I buy it now, my slab in two weeks costs me $35....scenario one costs me $5, scenario two pays me $15.

It's unarguable that the prudent decision is to take the $50 later

Why would I be "better off" having one hundred slabs now? Your theory still falls apart because if I die I still wont be able to drink the beer that I bought with my savings. This is a meagre $30 and to compare $30 to future savings is pure stupidity and you know that.
