Goodwin is looking like damaged goods and has almost burnt the club down. But burning our club down for a premiership doesn't seem like a bad idea right now. If Neil Balme ticks it off I'd be good with it.

Thoughts?

I was a yes but things have unravelled so badly that you wonder if he's had his period where the planets aligned

Not every coach can go again after a period of success, but they can live off it for a while

If Nicks can't get a result this year (not just make finals but win a finals game) I'd be thinking Bucks. I reckon he'd like the look of the list enough to get back into a coaching role. He is the closest version of Malcolm Blight among the ex coaches currently, I just cant figure out if we are looking like the 1996 crows or the 1997 crows right now.

Hell no!

Needs a poll so we can categorically out this one to bed.

If you want someone capable of burning a list, may as well stick with Matthew Nicks

Everything Simon Goodwin has done this year and the prior 3 years has been awful. From the straight sets finals exits, to not making finals, to now being almost a lock for bottom 4.

All of this with a list that contains tons of premiership players in their prime. A midfield of Oliver (27 years old), Petracca (29), Gawn, Viney... they've got Lever (29) in defense, Fritsch (28), Pickett (23), Rivers (23), Langdon (29), Salem (29)...

Oh and on top of that lots of upcoming young talent (Van Rooyen, Langford, Lindsay, Windsor, Bowey, Tholstrup)

He has that list winless and it hasn't won a final in 4 years.

Do not want. At all.

Buckley and Simpson are good suggestions. Would be happy with either. Probably Simpson first.
Yeah, in order...

Simpson
Buckley
Longmire
Rahilly

Hell no to Goodwin.

No. Also want either Simpson or Buckley. Something is putting me off Longmire.
Feel he is on the decline, coaching style could maybe not gel with our list and that finals record.
But obviously still prefer over Nicks.

Rahilly is a good call actually. I was wracking my brains before trying to think of the promising assistant we'd lost - he's the guy. He will make an excellent head coach one day (just our luck he will probably end up at f***in' Geelon'

No way. He is to senior coaching and a good culture what Collective Minds are to team bonding.

As I said on another thread, I'd be tempted to take a punt on Beveridge as an offensive-minded coach.

Hatred can blind. I know that Nicks isn't well liked here but have you seen the Demons play? It's the opposite of the Crows and modern attacking game. He is notorious for playing same shite style. He is another Paul Roos.

Goodwin won't be a head coach after Melbourne.
