Some of us are eyeing a new generation or at the very least GTAV. We've got a few months before that hits so what do you want to actually go back and finish off beforehand?

Mine is a mix of games I've started and ones I really need to get to in order to see the generation's best.

Need to playthrough Borderlands 1 again, and play through those DLC.

Just bought Red Dead Redemption last week so I'll be giving that a burl. Might give Fallout NV another playthrough (or 5 after that). Still want to play through TLOU again.

Wouldn't mind picking up an old PS2 cheap and completing FFXII.

I have 500+ games across pc/ps3/360 which are either unfinished (started but moved on to other games) OR still sealed. I will never finish them all. I am making a start in finishing a few ps3 and xbox 360 titles i have had for a while, i may not necessarily trade them in when done.... but the aim is to get through as many as i can between now and whenever i decide to move to a ps4. Off the top of my head these are some of the games i'd like to finish:

Red Dead Redemption
Tomb Raider (purchased during the recent XBL sale, picked up the pc version months ago.... am yet to start the 360 version, and only 5% done on pc)
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Mortal Kombat (ironically i plowed through the storyline on pc over the last 2 weeks)
Injustice
Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust
Arkham City (finished it on pc, never got motivated to finish it on 360.... despite buying it on console first)
Top Spin 4 (don't think it can be "finished" as such, but i'd like to get all of the season mode achievements)
LA Noire


PS3:
Arkham Asylum + AA GOTY EDITION (played through it on EASY, yet to complete it 100% on HARD - have done this on 360 and pc multiple times thanks to owning both the original and GOTY editions on those systems. I consider AA to be similar quality to that of GTA Vice City, in that the game is worth playing again and again and again - can never get sick of it).

I traded a few 360 games into EB the other day that were still in shrink wrap lol, and i got more for them than what i payed for them lol cha chiiiing.

Cleared most of my backlog on PS3 by trading in, some still in shrink wrap. Went on a buying frenzy for a while (around the time GAME closed, damn you bargains) that had my PS3 collection out to over 90+ disc based games, its down to 10 now, only GT5 and GoW Ascension to finish, probably wont get them done by the time PS4 drops, either through severe lack of gaming time lately or the upcoming GTAV release.

On the ps3 my sealed games list is more criminal - GOW HD collection, GOW III, Motorstorm Apocalypse and Uncharted 3. I have many others that are sealed.

On the 360 it is mostly budget/cheaper titles which i buy because of how cheap they were (compared to their original price) and "i'll play one day" but that one day never comes. Shadowrun is my oldest game, i purchased it in 2007 and it remains sealed. Resident Evil 6 is still sealed, i purchased it a week after it was released.

I picked up NBA 2K13 around the same time as RE6.... i only just opened it 3 days ago , i played the pc version to death before i formatted my computer a few months ago, because i couldn't retrieve my saved career... i stopped playing. I figured i'd run through the game again and get achievements for my effort this time.

I purchased Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition when it was released here........ however i cracked open my ORIGINAL copy of the normal game i imported back in 2011 instead (i had not touched it since i imported it as whenever i wanted to play MK... i'd be playing it at a friends place). As a result MK: KE is still untouched.

Assassin's Creed II + Mass Effect II were purchased during a Dick Smith software sale 3+ years ago, i got them for $20 when they were still being sold for $79+ everywhere else. Both are still sealed, and the original games for both franchises are games that i started but never finished.

I've got an unfinished Skyrim and a 3rd playthrough of GTA IV: TBOGT as well as GTA: San Andreas (probably 20th playthrough) on rotation at the moments but everything else has been clocked at least once.

How do these backlogs happen? Not a criticism, I'm genuinely curious.

Compulsive buying? Personally I never buy a new game until I have finished the previous one (sometimes multiple times if I really enjoy it).

(ROMS are the exception although obviously I don't buy them)

Basically I keep purchasing games that I want to play but don't really have the time that I had when I was 15 years old. Almost everything I've purchased are games I'd really enjoy I just don't end up playing them.

I know I'll really enjoy RDR & Ni No Kuni but in the second one's case I don't have the 50 hours to dedicate to it. Even if I have put in about 30+ into TLOU & counting.

I can see how this could happen. Bought RDR a couple weeks ago and have only put 30 minutes into.
