Soooo...for some unknown reason my Carlton membership emails are suddenly being sent to everyone in my department at work, not just to me. How weird is that!
Hmmm, just happened suddenly without anyone doing anything

When did Jeanne decide to give herself the 360 experience. I imagine the comparison tally will soon be overtaken at an alarming rate.

The emails are all addressed to my name, but they're going to the other 4 people who work on my team. My boss isn't super happy about it... typical richmond supporter.
Yeah so it sounds like they've somehow got your work colleagues emails to actually send them?

I'd be calling the club about that, my GWS boss might find it funny at first but the novelty would wear off incredibly quickly.

You get a free Essendon 3 game memebership when you buy an Essendon jumper @ a Rebel sports. So there's a couple thousand.

Blues push AFL for new MCG deal
AFL figures obtained by Fairfax Media show that they (Carlton) surprisingly ranked fourth in the competition for 2013 in ''access memberships'' – members whose package buys entry to games – with 45,613, behind only Collingwood (68,955 access members), Hawthorn (63,353, counting Tasmania) and Richmond (52,488). Adelaide (44,436), West Coast (43,945), Essendon (42,614) and Geelong (41,148) are all marginally behind the Blues on that count. The figures include discounted three-game memberships, as well as the traditional 11-game package and AFL club support memberships.

Now that's what you could call interesting membership figures...

Yet we don't sell many non-access memberships like Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond, etc.

Thanks to Chism and Thylacine60 for directing me to this thread! Much appreciated! A number of arguments in this thread explaining our poor membership level (club disconnect with fans, scheduling; Etihad as home ground; interstate members, on field (lack of) performance, etc) are certainly valid but can also be applied to other teams as well (thereby - to some extent - balancing out the effect). The reality is we lag SIGNIFICANTLY behind the other 4 BIG Melbourne clubs!!:

72,170 Collingwood
66,169 Hawthorn
63,939 Richmond
57,516 Essendon
46,327 Carlton

Despite a greater focus on membership the club continues to falter way behind its rivals. Carlton is considered to be one of the power house clubs but this is far from reflected in its member numbers. We still do very well (usually 2nd behind the Pies) on TV viewer numbers.

Why is Carlton lagging?? The argument that it is because of on-field performance is only part of the answer as we have historically lagged behind the other four clubs including when they have been doing poorly on ground. Essendon will pass the 60,000 member mark by end June, I am not as confident that the Blues will break even the 50,000 threshold. What does the club need to do to put us on equal footing with the other four Melbourne clubs??

Pffft I'll be buying a shirt. Star Wars is boss (the old ones, the new ones suck)!

Combines two of the best things ;) :D
I'm a Return of the Jedi kind of babe. Won't catch me wearing one of those tshirts though :p
Seems to me that those shirts are pretty apt...

Ever known a Stormtrooper to hit a target...?

I rest my case.
