If you bowl first you better make the most of it- you only half did it. Maybe don’t bowl Starc for one.

If we lose this yes and never bowl first again I’m taking that as a positive
The decision at the toss and execution of performance are different things. You can make the right toss call and then perform poorly, even though it was the right call.

Could use a bloke in this middle order who has an incredible record of cobbling together runs with the tail and averages like 60

If you are talking Smith he hasn’t averaged near that in the last 3 years

Re the good/bad decision to bowl first storm, at the end of Day One it was universally praised as a good decision.
After 8/107 ==> all out 162, Cummins was praised by all.

The naysayers have ignored that, but both camps are upset because of where we are now.

We're in trouble now because of:
--- the pitch settling down, helping the Kiwis in their second dig. Suddenly, today, after lunch the ball turned and Lyon became dangerous. Who knew, or predicted that?
--- 2 dropped catches
--- unwise short-pitched bowling @ the Kiwis
--- profligate batting by our Top 4 today.

It's the Kiwi second dig that has us in deep doo-doo, not winning the toss and bowling. (edited)

Cameron Green's issue is that when he goes back and across he does not cover his stumps. Inside edges and indecision goes through him as often as they take the outside edge.

He gets bowled entirely too often by sixth and seventh stump lines.

Yeah small thing but he’ll learn still has had a good series

NZ have also bowled very well with the new ball today.
