Big day for the dees. We get to come up against one of the powerhouse clubs without two of their stars.

Having said this I do not think we will win but we will get close. Hawks by 14

Agree. I think this will be a lot closer then what people are predicting. Melbourne aren't easy to score against. In saying that we have a habit of of piling on goals in a quick hurry and blowing teams away in a 10-15 minute burst.

Hawthorn needs to get its season started. Anything less than a good effort here and the Dees could jump us as GWS did last week. Hopefully this will be a pivotal game in our season. I agree, isn't it great to see a match on a Saturday afternoon for a change?

No chance of Melbourne causing an upset here - have you seen our ins this week? Grimes, Bail & Matt Jones, three absolute butchers of the ball.

Hawthorns outside skill will torture us on the rebound and I think this is where you'll get most of your goals.

It will be a replica of our last two games I think (against Freo and Swans) - if Hawthorn keep the foot on the throat for the whole game it will end up a 60-80 point loss a la Freo, if they pull up in the last and we kick a few late goals it will be a 30-40 point loss a la Swabs.

Oh and David Hale will probably kick 3 or 4 goals.

Hale will no doubt improve our forward structure inside 50. Something McEvoy was very poor at doing. By having Hale in the side now he takes away a good defender and stops Roughead from being double-teamed all the time and gives us another key target inside the forward 50.

This one will be over very early. Thats an awful looking melbourne line-up, matt jones may be the worst footballer to run around this weekend.
Hawks 16.18.114
Demons 6.10.46

I think teams that play not to lose in a sense get torn to shreds by the hawks

If melbourne attack they have more chance of an upset, thought also more likely to get smashed if that makes sense

It did in my head
