Everyone will start kicking off their Pre-Season soon and we should have a bit more idea of who has picked up who

hillside started their pre-season on monday night. At least 40 Blokes on the track, a few new faces with even more new faces to be there tonight after a few signings on monday. New coach was from all reports pretty good. Things looking up for the club and hoping to play good enough football to stay in B-grade this season and beyond.

Former 18's league B&F sayid abdulrahim has left northern saints again... Doesn't want to play under the current coach

Any idea where he will be headed? How has he been handling Senior football?

Moonee valley big possibility... Spent a couple games in the 2's in 2011 but is not a reserves footballer... a young kid still finding his feet at senior level and according to him being played out of position by the current coach

I dont know the kid but I would have thought a kid "still finding his feet" should play where the coach want him to pay, prove to the coach that you are worth your spot and then move forward.
or you could sook it up and leave....

So who are the leading condenders so far for season 2012 ?

This has to be a worry for East Keilor after a strong 2011 on feild..

Dear Members and Friends of the EKFC,
The East Keilor FC desperately needs your help. At the recent AGM nominations were requested for next years committee including the executive positions of President, Secretary, Treasurer and Senior Vice President but none were forthcoming.
If these positions are not filled shortly the club will struggle to operate successfully in 2012. You would be aware that a lot of progress has been made over the last 2 years with 4 junior premierships, every junior side playing finals and our senior side who finished bottom of the table in 2009 played finals in 2011.
If the club is going to continue with this momentum then we need you to come forward and help the club survive. Next year is a pivotal year for the club with the introduction of a third senior division. If we as a club don’t get more support from its members and friends then C grade is a reality and the flow on effect of this would be an exodus of our best junior players, and ultimately the death of the club.

Very talented, but needs to grow up fast if we wants team success.

:thumbsu: Spot on, why would you leave Northern after the year they had in 2011?

Just doesnt see eye to eye with the coach... Happens at every club every year... Can't make all of the people happy all of the time.

He actually Told the club he will come back though... Just not in 2012

Jason Akermanis confirmed signing for the round 1 game for a b-grade club in 2012.

will be great get for the club that struggled to get much of a crowd/atmosphere last year.

the club is at least trying to find extra/different ways of getting people to the club/bar/canteen etc....

good get for the Moonee Valley Football Club.

Wow Aker in B grade, great work by Moonee Valley. That will surely give them a boost

That's a shame on Keilor Park and East Keilor so hopefully they can find some solutions.

Keilor are certainly not in debt liar!!!!!!

If all the clubs he plays at make good coin and get some exposure then I don't see a problem with it... Would like to see FEV do something similar seeing as it's looking unlikely he'll play afl again... Would definitely pull some big crowds

You dont need to know aker to know that he plays a a few different clubs. l dont think loyalty is part of the agreement. Good chance for clubs to get exposure and make some money:D
Good get by the clubs that can pull it off:thumbsu:

How much are they paying players? Maybe they need to just cut back and take the risk that they will not play finals but at least the club will survive.

These clubs that pay massive coin to players need to understand that it's not sustainable

With the league looking to expand to 10, 10 and 10 I doubt they will let a current team go under.

How can you say that? There is currently nothing in place by the EDFL to protect small clubs from being gobbled up by neighbouring megaclubs or just folding.

eg: Keilor allowed to have massive junior numbers and Keilor Park only 2 km up the road struggling. The key to making struggling clubs stronger is assisting them at junior level to help clubs produce HOME GROWN players that stay with their clubs long term.

EDFL Must protect current clubs who have over the years made the EDFL what it is today. If EDFL put as much time into this as they are to trying to get new clubs it would be better. What's the point in bringing in 2 new clubs located out in the sticks if EK and KP fold?

Whatever you may think, the EDFL have an OBLIGATION to help balance things. No different to how the AFL introduced draft and salary cap as a way of helping struggling clubs. If they hadn't done this, we would have had Carlton winning every second flag. Yuk

Edfl are under no obligation to any club... That's why keilor craigieburn Sydenham have 3 or four sides in every junior age group... If you bail out the clubs that are struggling there is no incentive for the club to be managed properly... The edfl isn't a socialist organization... There is no measures for evening everything up.

If the clubs have the right people in place they will prosper... Clubs need to constantly work hard And when they dont that's when these clubs find themselves in debt

My club works tirelessly at trying to attract juniors... Running clinics at the local schools they also have a stall at the fawkner festival bunnings sausage sizzles and also run a local schools carnival at mutton reserve because of the close proximity of other clubs such as hadfield, glenroy, pascoe vale etc plus the aging demographic of the clubs catchment area if the club doesn't work it's arse off to promote the club then the juniors would struggle to fill all age groups

I'm not against maybe limiting the amount of junior sides clubs like keilor can field... But keilor would be penalized for being a well run club and the keilor park type clubs are being rewarded for being poorly run
