Round 8
Another big week saw one player continue to rack up the stats while another is making his mark both on field and off it. Eight rounds in and there are two standouts currently vying for a nomination, both from clubs without a nomination at this point. Only one gets his recognition this week.
spookism and Mr Eagle / Tarkyn_24 are all rebuilding. The Swamprats and Hawks have had a torried last few months and all captains want to grab a positive when it comes up. jackenny has had a standout season but he needs to do more. Unsighted this week agains the Warriors in the Match Thread - if he can lift, he's sure to factor in the nominations.
That leaves us with the Swamprats.
This player has been more than handy on the field. He averages 12.5 hitouts a game, nearly 10 kicks a game and 17.75 disposals a game. He's second in the competition in hitouts and is averaging 88.5 Exie Points per game.
But more than that, his posting has been excellent. 31 posts in the last Match Thread - funny, witty and controversial at times - this players posting has arguably been more important to his side than his on-field exploits this season. He's given the Swamprats some bite.
Of course, we are talking about Rats ruckman, toxic.
His Round 8 game saw him rack up 27 touches, 16 hitouts and 3 goals in a best on ground performance.

When you think of 'young blood', you don't immediately think of The Roys. And with stalwarts like Fred, Reardo, Mobbenfuhrer and fitzroybulldog roaming Brunswick
Street with their motorised scooters, it can be hard to see them even being able to talk to a Gen Xer, let alone recruit someone with a backwards facing cap.
But they did.
And although it may be one of their forgotten grandchildren - they have done it and so far, Loonerty is certainly making him mark on the competition.
Averaging over 18 disposals a game, Loonerty has impressed on field as well as off it, having fitted in to the Sweet FA like Mobbs fits into an old pair of slippers. His posting has been really impressive and I can see a big future ahead. With a bit more media training, he might even be a smokey for the EKA.
OnSunday Monday Tuesday night he gave DV2000 an absolute bath and was one of the Roys best - despite the sides loss. He racked up 21 disposals and looked well at home in the hussle and bustle of the midfield.
