Now we have a good one to start with, go to SEN and listen to the s**t that comes out of Dermies mouth, always liked him , to meet him, he's a great fella. But as an analyst on AFL he has lost it

Just came on to post this.

I think Floggo over analyses things way too much..

LISTEN | SEN Commentator Dermott Brereton believes Sydney is vulnerable defensively after Saturday's night's loss to Hawthorn.
Speaking on The Run Home, Brereton singled out Ted Richards and Heath Grundy as a reason the Swans list isn't flawless.

even harder for Grundy when he is sitting on the bench, its Dermies way of pumping himself and his position he played up he does it all the time

Gerald healy has mentioned it a few times as well but it is what it is our defence will always be vulnerable against a fleet footed attack it magnifies the problem if we are being beaten through the middle.

Ted and reg are a great duo, but undersized and neither are stars of the game, champion clubmen, ditto smith shaw and malceski,.

Rampe and laidler are honest toilers

Its nothing star studded back there at all

Yet consistently conceded fewer points against than just about every side for the last 5 years.

Midfield plays such a big part

So in summary hearing from the expert Vic media:

- Reid should have gone harder at a defensive contest marked by Roughead.
- Smith was well beaten by AA Breust.
- Laidler is too slow & vulnerable down back.
- Grundy & Richard are honest triers at best.
- Kennedy, Jack, McVeigh, Parker, Malceski, all down on usual form
- Buddy & Tippett couldn't kick straight.
- Actually we were out coached with all our players well beaten by their wonderful & courageous opponents.

We only lost by 10 points.

They fear us!

I couldn't watch any AFL shows tonight did they mention how brave Hawthorn were? and what a magnificent club they are to have endured a horrible season.

Richards was AA less than 2yrs ago! Grundy is having his best season to date imo, Laidler was a mismatch on Puopolo the only valid comment is our midfield was well down.

Robbo did a long rant on how every hawthorn supporter should be enormously proud of their team.

...was almost as good as his rant about the crowd abuse of Vickery. Said something along the lines of how ridiculous it was that the 13 year old girl was thrown out for abusing goodes, but the the vickery abusers werent. (Insinuating they had it round the wrong way, not that both should have been thrown out.)

I wont be surprised if he gets a little backlash about this comment tomorrow.

Everything in reverse we would get ohh hawks due for a loss, injuries hurt them, still top, etc

We are the greatest, or just honest toilers, or unbeatable, or fatally flawed, have the best midfield, or a one speed midfield that can't stop hawthorn, we have the best depth in history, we have terrible depth....

The way the media swings is enough to give a swans fan vertigo.

We were a couple of straight kicks and few effective disposals off opening up a 6 goal lead on the third. I certainly haven't lost the faith and basically don't look to the media for affirmation.

Teddy and Grundy not star defenders? Meh. Media can tell it to to its shrink as it deals with its accute bi polar condition. Not interested. :p

Robbo has lost the plot, Vickery just ko'd a west coast champion crowd response was inevitable. Goodes was racially abused for no reason. Cannot compare the two at all.

Malceski to Melbourne a done deal, Watson & Maher SEN.

Melbourne source? Or just radio opinion?

If Ox confirms it's done.

Frawley back on the table?

Love Mal. We'll send him off in style and I'll be having words with any Swan who boos him.

They were discussing Paul Roos signing on for a further year and talking about the Dees chances of making finals in the next 5 years. Moved onto their chances next year, saying that Roos signing on would mean Frawley probably stays & they will be boosted by Malceski off HB which is a "done deal".

Came across purely speculative but as you said, both have close ties to Ox.

Anyone who boos Mal is a mug, I'll support him every time he plays, just not as much when its against us.

Taking it with a grain of salt right now.

His manager has already stated that he hasn't fielded an offer from Melbourne (And the Source is Emma Quayle... Can't get much better than that.

The half-back has had interest from at least four clubs in Melbourne and Perth, where Malceski's wife is from, however his management has not yet fielded any offers from the Demons, where his former boss, Paul Roos, now coaches. [./QUOTE]
