Never been a fan of comparisons between historical sides in any code/sport - that said I have to say that the hawks deserve everything that they have achieved, without doubt an incredibly skilled side. Any posturing between lions/cats/hawks fans is a redundant exercise in my option and I'll leave it for the media.

If anyone actually thinks the Hawthorne team is as good or better than the lions era they're on some seriously good s**t. The competition is the weakest it's been in a very long time, especially in the top echelon of the competion. Good achievement but geelong, Brisbane,Essendon and even west coast premiership teams are better

Geez I think there are some really bad sports here. So the Hawks matched our premiership team..... who cares. Both teams are great, and we have both had great times as supporters.

Full kudos to the Hawks, well done. The way they demand the best from each other, trust each other, and control the tempo and therefore force teams to play a ceratin way is incredible.

We had to go through homesickness, less resources than the average Vic club, anti Victorian agendas thrown at us by the likes of Eddie Maguire etc.

We have had to go through so much more s**t than Hawthorn, we are way better than those cheats. They had a diluted talent pool due to expansion clubs along with favorable umpiring and free agency....Oh let's not forget the lack of the go home factor for many.
