Assuming the safe call was based on the interference, not the actual dive at the plate

Yep, no need to throw that ball, 2 out, let the pitcher get the third out and take it to extra innings.

I think the call was correct, he did obstruct the runner whether he meant it or not.

I dont know the rule, it didnt look deliberate, seems pretty tough.

Middlesbrook should have caught the ball, was a good throw by Salty. Was an epic last play, would have been wicked if called out at home, would have been an all time highlight play.
