i'd go for cage. ref doesnt have to stop and move the fighters back to the centre if they get tangled in the ropes.

also cage can be used in game plan, just another thing to keep fighters on their toes

welcome to the UFC addiction, but please don't use mma and wwe in the same context...in regards to your point about Rogan (wow), I don't see it as being an issue, once you watch a few fights and/or train you will most likely commentate the fight by yourself with 10 mates & beer (that is a mainevent ritual) hahhaa...you will know the fighters, what they are trying to do etc...

if you want to learn about mma, I agree with the guys who posted before me, watch Pride - that is a must and train, then you will see there is nothing fake about mma.

Strikeforce and the WEC are great to watch as well. Some fantastic fighters in there.

WEC is fun to watch for all the light fighters i love the bantom and feather weight fights, i do miss seeing Jens pulver win, its become depressing seeing him loose all the time hes like 1-7 in the WEC. strikeforce will die soon they are doing the same as eliteXC did

And what is that? They are putting on awesome MMA fights? Assuming their balance sheet is reasonably healthy I can see them doing very well.

Tell me the Strikeforce Nashville card isn't freaking awesome? And it's FREE!

Aoki vs Melendez is THE best lightweight fight possible in MMA right now, better than anything the UFC can put on.

Plus Coker seems to be a pretty sensible business man. I don't see why you think they will die and the comparison with EliteXC?
