Your Ideas To Improve The Game

League - Over after 90
Obviously

League Cup - PSO after 90
Agreed - no need for extra time for this s**t.

FA Cup (before Wembley) - Over after 90, replay at away team, over after 90, replay at neutral ground, PSO after 90
What the *?! No need for any ******* replays.

Introduce the away goals rule after 90 mins and play the standard extra time. And then penalties.

FA Cup (Wembley) - 30 minutes extra time (15 each way) continuous until a result is final. So if 0-0 after 90, 1-1 after 120, more OT, 1-1 after 150, more OT. etc.

lol

Keep it as it is. If you can't win it after 120 mins, it deserves to go to pens.

What was actually wrong with golden goal? It seems exciting and effective in theory.

The reasoning for the abolishment is that Instead of teams going all out to score they usually went super conservative instead. I loved it and wouldn't mind a comeback.

No, no, no, no, no!

This is what I'd like.

There is some awful ideas in there. As if the players don't play enough games already, you want to throw in extra FA cup ties and never ending games.

how often would those extra games occur?
Just go off this years FA Cup
1st round - 0 extra games
2nd round - 1 extra game (Worcester-Scun+horpe)
3rd round - 3 extra games (Wolverhampton-Fulham, West Ham-Everton, Chesterfield-Scun+horpe)
4th round - 0 extra games

The idea is take away the home field advantage in the extra time of the 2nd tie. But not have the never ending ties like Alvechurch and Oxford City when they had 5 replays in the 70s
At least it's fair for all.
why go 90 home, 120 away? Gives 1 team an advantage, 90 home, 90 away, then if still undecided, 90 neutral (with pso) to end it once and for all.

And the "never ending games" are so late in the season anyway it'd make minimal difference. ESPECIALLY with the cup final.

Quirks of the draw.

By your reasoning, all FA cup games should have two ties regardless. Why should 90 mins be influenced by a home ground advantage?

Late in the season is when they'd make the biggest difference. Players are stuffed by that point.

fair point :thumbsu:

Exactly - this only happened because you went to a shootout after 30 minutes.

Would be interesting to see how teams played it if they realised you had to actually score to win.

Stats of 0-0 extra times under the two different systems would probably tell a story.
