Injury Daniel Kerr Injury: How big a loss?

Well I seem to be the first to jump in with calling it a big loss.

He (like Naitanui) can just spark the game into life with some special moment. He's worth having in the side for that alone. He is class when afforded time and space, works his way through traffic well and can invent a genuine threatening attack from a handball (come to think of it, much like Naita again). Yes his overall output is not as good as when he was a superstar, but he's still our best midfielder.

Will definitely be missed. The injury looked bad, I hope its not 8+ weeks, but the agony he was in at the game, it looked like he could be in the same boat as Riewoldt :thumbsd:

Looked a significant injury and will have scans to assess to extent of damage. You would think at best would miss a month but a good chance of missing longer

A bit of guess work but I'm pretty sure on the mark.

Didn't look like the kind of hamstring injury Roo and Gibson had where their's were higher up the back of the leg. But it was a concern that he needed the cart to take him off the field. Hopefully it's just a 4-6 week injury.

A big loss or not a big loss?

Huge!!!

Won't make the 8 this year, though would have been a tough task anyway
West Coast really have to many youngsters with little game experience playing now with Wirrpanda ,Hunter, Stenglein retiring last year. So really we need to keep the experience players on the the park. The loss of experienced players like Lecras and Hurn have really hurt us already this year
Unlike other clubs we don't have ready made experience quality players to cover these losses

So thats means another youngster in to replace Kerr, which is good for long term development but you will see a lot more clangers in the short term

Not a huge difference because we have 4 similar players (though not as talented) and this year isn't promising much. But take a good look at the second half against a rabble and get excited because we will see a lot of that.;)

it's potentially a huge loss because of the player he can be.

but in reality he has not been having a massive influence for us. But what we are going to see is the opposition number 1 tagger going to someone else now and that person's output diminished.

I think we played well without him last year? Not sure on the exact statistics. Nonetheless it's a big loss.

It's been said already - but the tag now just goes to priddis.

We saw how damaging priddis can be when left to be the clearance merchant. Kerr out means pressure just flows down to the other players.

The thing about Priddis though - like Watson and Black - is he is a shoveller - gets little handballs in tight - this is always hard to tag.

He's a class player, probably the only one in the current midfield, but really hasn't done much since 2007. I don't think he'll be missed all that much, too selfish, probably give a chance for something better to develop, I'd trade him for Daniel Rich or a couple of good Gold Coast picks.

Opportunity! Hasn't made a huge impact over last 2 seasons. This season hasn't looked much different. Trade to Gold Coast or Western Sydney seems nice thought.

Bad luck to Kerr. Sad to see him out after he seemed set to get over his injuries and have a good year.

Looks like the tag goes to Priddis now. Not such a big deal really, there will be less blind snaps out of packs straight to the opposition! Can't believe how many times Priddis does it - hasn't he learned to handball to someone in a better position who can see downfield? Gazza never blindly snaps out of packs.

i thought Pridda was really good last night.

When U say Gazza do you mean Ablett jr? Maybe he doesnt kick it blindly because he has guys like Bartel, Corey, Selwood and Ling in there with to hlep - ever thought of that?
