Re: The Emblebury Medal - 2011 Bigfooty Magpies MVP

Would be interesting to see how many votes the top five players polled in the thread, rather than just only being ordered from one to five. e.g. 5. Johnson (78 votes or whatever it may be)

A great effort though so far, keep up the good work. :thumbsu:

That would make the results inaccurate because you would have more responses in some weeks than others meaning a best on ground vs a lowly Brisbane in a game we romp them could be worth 200 votes and a best on ground in a slog vs Hawthorn only worth 150.

Working in the system means anyone can vote on any week whilst the voting remains fair and consistant.

Re: The Emblebury Medal - 2011 Bigfooty Magpies MVP

I think what he wants is to just show me who got how many votes for that particular round, it's not going to change the outcome but shows who was close to getting votes etc? If that's the case I can do & will post those results from now on in, easy enough.
If it's the other then no, the voting system itself won't change.

I mean the former. Obviously a popular game would garner more votes and then skew the results, that's not what I was after. I really only wanted to see the amount of votes so you could sort of tell how much a certain player was best on ground by. Just gives more of a gauge of the overall performances whilst still keeping the 5-4-3-2-1 format. :thumbsu:

In reference to the overall tally:

Think the voting goes to show how close our B & F would be at the moment.

Thomas, Pendlebury, Shaw & Swan would just about be on the same votes!

Not sure, has had several 4's and 5's but a few really average games too, which will count against him in the Copeland.

Interesting that this week despite the voting being all over the place, the aggregate ended up matching the coaches' votes exactly.

Interesting thing to note is that the group of Pendlebury, Cloke, Thomas, Swan, Ball, Reid & Davis have received 110 of a total 120 votes allocated in our last 8 matches. So while it can appear that our performances are quite well spread each week, I think this shows definitively who our in form players are.

In that time, Pendles has received 25 votes (maximum possible was 40) in addition to polling votes in 11 of 15 games, including 5 BOG performances.
