I'm two hours ahead of most posters so thought I'd get it done early.

Hoping that the days of rolling over in Melbourne are gone and that the anyone, anywhere, anytime (despite sounding like part of the Goodies theme song) philosophy starts to shine through from today.

Time to make a stand against the saints too and start earning some respect.

I'm 9 hours behind so it's still Thursday but I'm already in Friday Night Football mode. A nice sleep and wake up to game time.

I'm nervous like hell about this game and just hope that we don't embarrass ourselves on the national stage again

It's time for years of pain against St Kilda to end too

I just woke up - had this dream that we blew them off the park and they scored a total of 9 points and it was on the news everywhere. I woke up looking forward to watching the replay since for some reason I missed the game. And today isn't Saturday *sighs* was a good dream though

Did we score 10 points to beat them and it was one of the most boring games in the history?

It has the potential to be the worst game imaginable to watch, I am praying a coach somewhere has the word attack written down somewhere

Some really good analysis in the AFL League Teams vision (see thread). The guys actually bother to analyse the teams and know their style, rather than the Footy Show simplistic (I like this mob better) approach.

Liked the part about the danger men that they highlighted as dangerous/creative users of the ball.

Fisher, Goddard and Dal Santo.

If the teams line up as shown, Ross will have Mayne marking Fisher which is a very clever move I reckon, as he'll have much less space to move than if he was matched up against Pav (who he pretty much destroys each time they play, and who doesn't chase hard enough).

I reckon Crowley is a good match up for Goddard.

I'd like De Boer matched up on Dal Santo, but I don't see it happening. I think Ross likes what De Boer is contributing to the forward line at the moment. I reckon Crowley would be better off going to Dal Santo if that's the case, leaving McPhee to pick up Goddard. Don't reckon that'll happen either as our back line has been pretty stable, so McPhee will probably stay there.

Hayes isn't worth tagging as he'll still dig the ball out of packs over and over again... his influence is too hard to stop.

What I'd like to see:
- Mayne on Fisher
- De Boer on Dal Santo
- Crowley on Goddard

What I reckon we'll see:
- Mayne on Fisher
- Crowley on Goddard
- Broughton playing a loose, run-with role on Dal Santo (if anything).

Really happy with the ins this week, amazing how important ballantyne is now to the team balance (all the more reason to keep that balance between player and pest right and not see the tribunal... too much).

Obviously want the 4 points but almost as important is I want to see enough run and precision that we leave melbourne believing we can go up against any team positively. Win and a loss the last two weeks but both have left me feeling like a better team would have torn us apart.

A bit said about how Lyon will know how to take on the Saints star players, but what most have failed to mention is that the Saints' senior players will have a very good idea of what Ross likes to do too and would be more knowledgeable on how to disrupt it. Players like Dal Santo, Montagna, Hayes ... they are very smart footballers and they'll work us out as much as we might be able to do to them.

That aside, I wasn't particularly confident earlier in the week and not much has moved me. Saints have a very good core of players and they'll lift for this one and I still don't think we're clinical and disciplined enough to win this sort of game. Hope we're in with a shot though, hate to have a blow out.

We will see if Hill has improved as a player, Jones will stick to him like, Jones also has the ability to run off and hurt you the other way.
This game should be a cracker.

C'mon, Mayne made Goddard's life hell last time we played the Saints, we've gotta go with that matchup again.

True. But imagine what Crowley would do. Goddard doesn't seem to cope well with irritating, abrasive taggers. Crowley is definitely that.

Goddard'll probably get 12 weeks off for trying to stab Crowley with anything he can find. Or his head'll explode from the effort of trying not to.

I believe Crowley could handle Goddard, but there's no way he could handle Fisher. Hence... Crowley to Goddard, Mayne to Fisher.

Will be fun to watch whatever happens though.

Especially now that Mellington's out for a while, Son-Son is still out of favour and Crozier is probably still a bit light.

****in cmonnnnnnnnnnnnn!
The downtrodden Docker in me says that we'll roll over and get comfortably beaten in Melbourne like usual... but Ross' insight to the Saints has to give us a great advantage surely. Let's see how far we've really come

I like your match-up's for Fisher & Goddard but I'd prefer sending Mzungu to Dal Santo to do a similar sort of job he did on Ablett last year.

On my way to the ground now and started to get that exciting feeling before a big game.

I have to keep off my iPhone a bit as I have a habit of running it dead by the end of the night by checking BF, Twitter and SC scores constantly. It's at 92% now and I can guarantee it will be at 15% on the train home. You could practically call the iPhone a landline co side ring how much it needs to be charged!

Going for a good game and im predicting Freo by 3 points with a kick after the siren to win.

REMEMBER TO KEEP THE ROAST/WHINGING THREADS TO A MINIMUM AFTER THE GAME!!! :(

Everyone one should voice there opinion in one thread! (unless it's completely unrelated to this game)
