Fisher, Roberton, Steven, Dal Santo, Gwilt, Dempster, Big Boy....

Yep, James Gwilt is top-level talent mate. I take it he's going to be part of the 'juggernaut' that your horribly deluded coach feels will propel your pathetic club to its first flag in 60 odd years.

Nope. I live in Adelaide and have more than a passing interest in the crows. What's my post history got to do with anything? I had no idea Adelaide BF posters were as pig-headed or arrogant as their Port Adelaide counterparts.

I'll leave the thread, not one to stay where I'm unwelcome. You're a top bloke though. Keep making such incisively relevant observations, you semi-literate, inbred hick...

So you choose to live in a city full of inbred hicks despite presumably not being born here? Nice life choice.

Your list is in about as good shape as Melbourne's. You have zero chance of making the finals before 2018. Deal with it. Move on. **** off.

It's a game of footy, why do people need to abuse and insult each other when discussing it?

If he can't even make an impact as a sub though, he doesn't deserve to keep his spot anyway. Hendo offers a lot more to our side atm, only reason Porps has survived is because Sando seems to love him.

Good to see you've woken up to the possibility that this is an issue.

We aren't the Aus XI from a decade ago - we aren't good enough to carry out of form players because the coach likes them.

Or Sando is giving him every opportunity to keep his place on the list?

I imagine it would be a hard and difficult decision to delist someone and Sando and the coaching staff are giving them (and him) every opportunity to make their mind up if he has a place in the side and in the list next year.

Out of contract, dodgy shoulders, out of form and hanging onto his place in the side by a thread. If he gets dropped, that could be it for him at the Crows.

So, before putting the red line through his name, make sure the decision is a certainty and all the information you need as been collected.

Because in real life, most don't gave the courage to say those things because out of the fear they would get a punch in the head.

It seems to me that he was calling you a semi-literate inbred hick, not the entire population of Adelaide. Perhaps he was on to something with the semi-literate crack? :p

Hendo didn't line up for the Dog's. Anyone in doubt or are we just being cautious?
Interesting. We might just be being cautious with his calf.

Seem to remember Jenkins has been touch and go the last couple of weeks.

You don't put a red line through his name until he's had a chance to find form in the SANFL.

I don't agree.

The pressure, speed, intensity and skill level between the SANFL and AFL are not even comparable. They can measure and gather greater level of information regarding a players work rate from a training session than they can from an SANFL match day game. Thats why players don't always have to perform to get selected when they are dropped as they can still demonstrate tat level of fitness at training and they don't waste their time trying to measure how a players form is going based on any SANFL game as the pace, skill level and intensity isn't the same.

More time doesn't add any pressure, so how can you truly measure if a player has found form t the higher level. That is taken from training.

SANFL form > Training form.

Porps's issues are mental - his confidence is shot; he sounded like a broken man on the radio this week.

He won't get confidence and form back running around doing drills, he needs to play and dominate games - which he can't do in the AFL, ATM.

We all love him, and I think the talk of putting a line through him is ridiculous (and the kind of reactive, hyper crap we bag the Media for); but he shouldn't have been selected straight after being dropped - it's not supporting him by playing him in this form, it's sending him out to slaughter.

There is a reason that Porps is being given more leeway than Petrenko, Johncock and Callinan. He contributed far more in the finals series than the other three small forwards - as well as a certain tall forward/ruck who must not be named.

Harsh to put Stiffy on that list, but I get your point - and I agree with it.

I don't want Porps dropped for any other reason that I believe he'll get his mojo back in the SANFL and we can bring him back in a month or so, fit and firing.

I think you missed my point mate. I'm not suggesting this week is his last week and then he's going, I'm talking about the fact he is getting an extraordinary amount of leniency to find form and in comparison to others he's still in the side. Im thinking he will get 7 or 8 more games before a decision is made.

If he goes back to the SANFL to find form, it's only going to be fake confidence as he will be playing at a level that s slower, less skilled and different level of intensity.

To paraphrase, I feel this is a Greg Chappell moment, he is in good form in the nets but keeps getting out. He is training ok and gives the coaches and match committee confidence but isn't performing in games.

I would like to see the "Lyons Rule" applied to all of our underperforming older players. (i.e. they have to be BOG three weeks in a row in the SANFL before they get another chance in the AFL). The experience of players like Porplyzia, Johncock, Vince, Callinan etc means they should dominate at SANFL level.

Many were happy to write off the SANFL form of Lyons, Lynch etc but get very excited when Nutta gets three "joe the gooses". I haven't written off any of the older players (well maybe Bling) but they need to be showing significantly more than the KIDS to push them out of the team

Confidence is a wonderful thing....

Confidence is a wonderful thing....

Of course it is. You can have the most amount of confidence but its useless if that confidence goes astray if its developed in a false environment.

A skill will break down once that confidence is gone if its not developed under a pressure situation. We need players to have confidence to play AFL football, not SANFL football.

But we know Porps can play at AFL level. We've seen it. In finals too. Its not some two bit weekend hack....

If it is as simple as going back to West Adelaide, getting 35 touches and gaining confidence - why didn't they do if after he was dropped for the Carlton game.

But you weren't talking about we. You were stating your assumptions of sando's thoughts as fact

Stop with the 'stating your assumptions as fact' bullshit. Have seen that used too many times on this board. Unless someone indicates that they have insider knowledge - every post on here is done through observation and assumption.

I wasn't trying to say that I know what Sando is thinking, but I think that anyone with half a brain can see its pretty bloody obvious that Sando rates Douglas & Reilly - considering they have both been selected for every single game that they have been available for under Sando's regime. I also think that its safe to say that Sando rates Porps highly - considering he keeps persisting with him even though his form has dropped.
