Lachlan Hunter ... seems to be looking the goods at Willy - how far is he away from playing for the Dogs?

I remember watching his dad play quite a bit (used to go to a lot of Dogs games at The Western Oval with my dad, who is a Dogs' supporter) - hope he breaks through very soon.

Ignore my other post, it looks very likely he will debut this weekend, all the signs point to him getting his debut.

What do you guys reckon of Hrovat's job security? Bit concerning that Cooney and Boyd are set to return this week. Heard Cross is doing well in the VFL as well.

Hrovat's one bad game away from being dropped, as midfield is where we have the most depth. He'll definitely get games if we cop injuries, but don't count on that. Cross will return at some stage and will get a farewell game. Both are in the 20-25 position on the list. I'd take Kyle Martin over Hrovat.

What's the go with Daniel Cross? Thinking of making a cheap play for him in my draft league, but unsure as to why he's been running around in the VFL.

Big no. He'll get the odd game here and there, but won't get many games at all. The game's passed him and we'd prefer to play the young guys, avoid him.

Who will be the sub? I'm taking a punt on picking Hunter of Hrovat.
Giansiracusa is usually the sub these days. Hrovat's on the bubble, but JS isn't great. Hunter's dominated in the VFL, whether he can play well at top level remains to be seen.

Pretty much just the classic old man calf injury. A bit of a strain that takes a little while to get over.

Sooooo any re-considerations (lol?) regarding Boyd after pumping out two massive scores, Dogs' fans? :):p

If he is back to his good ol' DT days then I don't mind paying a lot for him. (As I would be after his last few rounds).

Ok you got us :p

Seriously for us watching the game we were staggered he got so many points. He has little influence apart from negating Cotchin, which doesn't actually give you any points! He butchered the ball a lot, apart from those dinky little handpasses to a teammate where they then kick it forward. Against Melb and GWS he'll fire out another couple 115+ scores you'd think, but then who knows? So then take the punt if you want, I personally wouldn't, but it could pay off.

Thanks for the reply :)

Hmmm, it is a tricky decision and I guess I'll make it later in the week. Probably should leave it to later anyway and focus on my disastrous defence.

Hi guys,

What do you think of Hunter's JS?

Had a cracking 1st game, seems a lively unit, would be awesome if he could keep scoring in this vicinity (optimistic, but IMO we're kinda bereft of midfield downgrades at this stage).

Cheers :thumbsu:

Hard to say. We play Melbourne next week, so you'd think he should put in a decent performance, which would get him another game, so he'd get to the 3 game mark and earn some cash, I'd say.
Not sure on long term though. We have a habit of giving young guys a rest eventually.
Can griffen keep playing like a god for the rest of the season?

Yes he can. The man is invincible.

is he being tagged at the moment?

The one time he didn't beat a tag he scored 89. His other low score was a 59 when he got injured. Apart from that his lowest score is 101, and then not once below 119. Get him in right now if you can afford it.

Might get in 1 of Boyd or Griffen for DT to come in for Barlow as i copped the double Barlow/Stevie j whammy (like nearly everyone else) leaning towards Griffen because he's in career best form and averaging 29 possies a week.
Unless you've got a midfield donut, I wouldn't really advise trading out Barlow as he was very close to selection this week completing a full session IIRC. Just our committee being cautious.:)

Who is more likely to be the sub this week. I'm thinking hrovat and surprised to see him still in the team after last week but I'm happy. Although if he's the sub I won't. Him or pittard on the field?

Unless Pittard is the sub again, he will probably outscore Hrovat.

I won my eliminator by only 16 this week, griffen and riewoldt in for stevie j and barlow were the difference, will try and get back in barlow in rnd 17 as i should be able to get back SJ next week barring no injuries/susp this week

Now that Boyds out who's going to get the job in the midfield? Was going to off load Cooney this week, Is there a chance Cooney will benefit from Boyds injury.

Libba will probably get the most out of it. Will be able to get more of the ball now. Coons has been playing in the back line, for some ungodly reason. I'd like to see him in the middle a bit more, but I don't think you can say it with any certainty.

Wallis as a smoky, I guess. When he's getting games, he's being pushed out on the wings. Might get more centre square time with Boyd gone.
