In the last decade, only 2 teams who finished top 4 did not make it through to the preliminary final so if we finish top 4, we likely ain't getting bundled out in straight sets anyways.

What do they actually do when the lightning and thunder begins to look dangerous for all involved?

I don't think I have ever seen a game stopped because of that potential danger. Have heard of soccer players get struck by lightning

Wow, it's a slog of a game in the midst of a deluge - only four points scored this entire quarter ! Somehow I'm not sure the AFL will be using this first half to market the game in non-footy jurisdictions. I'm fascinated to see how long it takes for Carlton to kick their first goal. though.
