A lot of those guys were close to 40!
Greg is only now 25 and had his last surgery just after his 24th birthday. If you look at the guys on that list who had the microfracture at 25 or younger it's pretty much Amare and Randolph, who both came back and become All Stars. Basically the only guy under 30 on that list who didn't come back/wasn't able to reach their potential was Darius Miles.

I disagree.

Karl Malone was 40 :p

Hmm.. I cant find any evidence of him actually having the procedure. Regardless, he was never the same after his injuries at the Clips, but yeah he played a big part in the latter stage of the Bulls run

I know he had a really serious injury in maybe his 3rd or 4th year in Cleveland, but he still put up 20ppg for the Clips.

How old was he on the Lakers championship team peternorth? Was still playing a heap of minutes then too.

Brian Grant had a decent career too.

Oden seems like a different case altogether- this guy has a pretty strong opinion..

he was 35 during his laker days (start of). he provide veteran leadership, D and helped kobe develop. his entry passes to shaq in the post were prejizz.

Oden has made his decision...

Surely it'll be PHX? That's the only place where his knees will survive ;)

I want to see him do well and even though Sacramento is in the running I don't think he'll choose us. If I was him it'd be Miami, take that shot at a ring and he wouldn't need to play a huge amount of minutes either, perfect for him IMO.

The Atlanta Hawks have waived DeShawn Stevenson to clear a roster spot for DeMarre Carroll.
DeMarre Carroll >>>>>> DeShawn Stevenson ?????

Al Harrington was placed on waivers by the Orlando Magic on Friday.

Amar'e Stoudemire has canceled a scheduled week of workouts with Hakeem Olajuwon in Houston.
The New York Knicks and Stoudemire decided that rest would be more important than refining his post moves with Olajuwon.

Must have had such a demanding off-season.

Some pretty funny Oden tweets going around.

"broke his jaw announcing his team"
"team can't get insurance on his wrist before signing contract"

:D

Haha poor fella.

Hope he can get through the season injury free, wherever he ends up. Deserves a decent run at it.

Two year deal, player option for year two apparently

Great deal for both parties. If Oden gets healthy he can play a very important part against the likes of Hibbert etc. and if not then it doesn't hurt the Heat all that much anyway.
