It helps also having Thompson as well. If they play their best forward on Hansen to expose him, we have an equally effective 1 to 1 defender/zoner that can also play small.
Totally.

It is generally a choice of having Hansen loose or Thompson loose. Otherwise you have two key forwards tagging their defenders. Not ideal.

He has always been good overhead and had reasonable skills, the things that stood out as weaknesses were his awareness and decision making when under pressure. He has no doubt improved greatly in these two areas and is quickly becoming the player we all have been hoping he would.

It's a great sight to see him float in from the side of the pack and clunk a big one-grab mark!

I could not speak highly enough of Hansen right now. I understand the view that the jury is still out on Hansen by some posters, which is a fair question to ask in my books. Get on the Hanson bandwagon, I'm on it.
He has massively improved, there is no doubt about it. And yes, I am the first to admit, I have always been one of his biggest knockers.

However, i still think the jury is out a little, I know most of you disagree, but like it or not he has been our loose defenders most games, which has worked a treat, to B Scotts credit.

I hope he can maintain this form and keep on improving, if so, he will be a true force to be reckoned with.

I am not knocking him, I am just stating that I think he will receive a lot more attention soon, due to his awesome form, which may impact the way he has been playing.

As 5 GB USB stated, I am definitely one that still thinks the jury is out on Hansen, however if he keeps this up that argument will evaporate extremely quickly.

Yes, we work to get him loose.

But when he has had to go to a man, which has been in every game, he has been excellent defensively, be they a 6'5 KPP or a 6'0 runner.

Confidence is a wonderful thing.

That may be the support he gets from our midfield or our smaller players offer a block/shepherd.

Its funny how he is not mentioned when he plays a very ordinary game, Adelaide made him accountable for the most part and the results were there for all to see.

He was still in our top 10 players imo.

I think thats the main point JR, Hansen's bad games are probably pretty comparable to his good games 12 months ago, has come a long way, and made an even bigger stride yesterday imo.

Was kept quiet in the firsthalf, but you could see he was trying hard to really impact the game, and did at times, took some strong grabs at critical times.

I'm a big Lachie doubter. But his form until this week has been fantastic. Had an ordinary game against Crows but so did plenty of his mates. I reckon Lachie has been one of the better improvers this season (that hurts).

Yep, I certainly am not pinning any blame on Lachie.

Sure he was a bit quieter, but that will happen when teams now give him more attention. Still contributed and some of his efforts were very good.

Thats a bit blinkered, what about the 3-4 Crows goals he directly contributed to, thats ok I guess:rolleyes:

Hansen not the problem against the clowns... sorry crows :P

Jacobs and a few of our mids not getting it done resulted in far more inside 50's
out forwards were also terrible, but they service they received was also far from good...

Come on Jack, admit it. Lachie slept with your mother and you walked in.

N
Name them..

2 goals were from set shots where he was comprehensively out-marked and 1-2 were from general play, from memory. If I had the replay at hand I would happily name them, no worries at all:thumbsu:
