Not ideal, but we'd have $550k extra to put towards a free agent. However, Dusty is a once in a generation freak monster machine of a footballer and I couldn't stand to lose him.

Agreed. I've kind of fobbed this off telling myself he'd re-sign but for some reason I woke up this morning with a bad feeling he's gone.

Really don't know how this would work, Richmond deserve at least the Saints pick 3 but i cant see the Saints trading out there first round pick this year.
The only trade i can come up with is Stanley (would be very handy as your 2nd ruck resting forward), Siposs (3rd tall forward) and the Saints second rounder. Doubt it would come close but the Saints don't have much on their list to offer atm.
For all we know Martin's signing a contract now, personally i think he would be stupid to leave the Tigers when you guys are about to play finals for the next few years and have a red hot crack at a flag.

Jack Steven is a gun. Saints would not part ways with him. They would be trying to build a midfield around Jack Steven who works hard offensively and defensively. No point getting rid of a gun mid for another when you severely lack quality mids like the Saints currently do.

Given how Carr has managed this negotiations in the AFL system, I think an attack of Carr is warranted.

Agree with all that except for I'd give them a key defender instead of a 2nd rounder. Secondly our pick will be later than pick 11.
