Drinking Buddies - A quirky drama about a female brewer whos in love with her taken best friend. Its a touch slow but didn't find it boring. Olivia Wilde. Is. *******. Hot. In almost every scene the characters are drinking beer. I craved beer so much watching this it was ridiculous. Theres no script. Almost all the dialogue was improvised. Wont be for everyone, but I thought it was equal parts interesting, touching and awkward. 7/10

Big fan, for an unscripted movie it has an amazing ending.

Prisoners. Best film I've seen all year. Literally had me on the edge of my seat. Best thriller since Zodiac/se7en (maybe better).

Haunter - Another haunted house movie but with a bit of a twist. Its like a mix between Groundhog Day & Insidious. Gets 10/10 for art direction & cinematography and setting the mood. Its visually excellent and a great score. Gets 2/10 for acting. The acting was a bit over the top and one dimensional and in the end the story was a bit meh. 4/10.

Woah, high praise. Personally wouldn't have it anywhere near those two, but it seems a lot of people will agree with you.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire- So my wife is obsessed with the books, adores them and loves the characters, as she usually obliges watching violent flicks for me i oblige watching bad flick for her. We saw the first one a when it was released and whilst it wasn't awful, it also wasn't good, naturally i had my reservations, especially given she also loved the twilight books (don't worry she hated the movies).

Anyway, i really, really enjoyed this. I get the appeal of it now and actually turned to my wife afterwards and said "i get this, i will never get the appeal of twilight but i get this". J-Law is really good and carries the film well, not to mention she is gorgeous, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson give a better love triangle to Katniss than T-Lau and R-Patz ever could in twilight and the overall themes of the film and the political messages are really well done, if a little heavy handed (they are young adult books so we shouldn't be too harsh).
The addition of Philip Seymour Hoffman was an awesome surprise as well.

Anyway, for the skeptics give this a go, it wont disappoint. 8/10

Meh, meh and meh.

Good Will Hunting, was on Foxtel last night, still a great movie. Just a great story and really well constructed. Can see why Damon & Affleck won their academy award.

Kill Bill 2: Caught most of this again on foxtel, and now downloading Kill Bill 1 to watch again. Tarantino at his self endulging best. Some really good scenes and then some over the top tarantino scenes. Good watching and great acting by his posse

Shooter

Apparently Mark Wahlburg went to sniper school to ensure that the shooting scenes were as accurate as possible. Unfortunately the plot makes no sense, the characters have stupid names and the dialogue is beyond cringeworthy.

Impressive that they made such a terrible film with a solid concept and a pretty good cast.
