All he seems to care about is ensuring that if Cronulla goes down, * goes down too. Screw the facts.

I'm all for * copping a belting if they deserve it, but playing the old "Miss! Miss! *Jimmy did it too Miss! Why aren't you punishing him too Miss!" line is straight out of high school, and Roy's photo suggets he might be a little old for that.

Well, I pretty much agree with him, seems pretty unlikely that *Dank would change his modus operandi in such a short space of time (albeit with a much bigger injecting regime). I have rarely agreed with Mr Masters on matters AFL v NRL, but I think he makes some good points in that article.

BTW if *Jimmy did it too, then *Jimmy should suffer the consequences too, no matter who 'dobs on him'. :p

My old man talked to me about his Supercoach last night. (Had some good words to say about his four NM players - McDonald, Ziebell, Daw and Black)

I mentioned the * game to him when discussing Daw's chances of a call-up. I made an off-hand remark along the lines of, "If they're allowed to field a team". We both laughed. It was nice.

Congrats on achieving post #9000.

I'm not sure that Roy is screwing with the facts. I read his article as suggesting that unless it can be otherwise explained, there's a reasonable basis for the proposition that what ASADA find at Cronulla would have been found at * if anyone had bothered to keep records or make admissions.

He doesn't want * to get off. This is a good thing.

To be fair to Roy, that article was a helluva lot more convincing than his one the other day about the ASADA email to Dank.

It's Roy's agenda that irks me. As much as I would love to see * go down, I'm not much of a fan of dragging someone else down with you.

Post #9000 eh? I just feel honoured and humbled to have been able to contribute to this mighty fine thread.

Just done some quick calculations. In order to reach the magical 10,000 figure by March 21 (Judgement Day) we require on average 24 posts per day. Given we have averaged this over the year since the thread was started I believe we are every chance. Keep up the good work

I refuse to make a meaningless post just so we can reach 10,000. I refuse.

Yeah, nah...it's got similarities to the Armstrong situation in that there was no smoking gun there either. A smoking gun would be a failed dope test or at least a direct admission by player or staff that banned substances were taken (by that I mean the staff giving the injection and the player receiving it). Like Armstrong we don't have any failed tests and no direct admissions (even *Jobe's admission was that he thinks he was given AOD, not that he definitely was given it).

IIRC that was the scenario re: Armstrong. So, IIRC the investigators painstakingly built a case based primarily on circumstantial evidence that made it overwhelmingly clear that Armstrong must have doped. The lack of a smoking gun didn't save Armstrong, it just made the investigators' job harder and slower as they had to cover off all the alternative explanations and possibilities to leave only one plausible explanation (ie doping).

So * supporters can bang on all they like about their being no smoking gun, but that's a long way from concluding that ASADA won't compile a convincing circumstantial case.

More yeah than na then.
