Nick Smith actually got two mentions about being underrated by the commentators in the North game.

He had to make two massive run down tackles to stop Thomas waltzing into an open goal to get those mentions, though. :p

Nathan Jones is closer to overrated than underrated.
How is he overrated? o_O

His name never comes up in AA discussions or when talking abut the top midfielders in the league. Many people seem convinced he is B grade. Mike never puts him in his Top 50. In what sense is he rated?

Admittedly I think he is just now entering his best years as a player.

Tom Lonergan. I think the last time someone took him to the cleaners was when the Dead Sea only had a mild flu.

Not meant to be a joke but I'm pretty sure Brad Miller disagrees, sure he didn't do it with football skill but he took him to the cleaners alright.

Still amazes me that he's still playing footy after that hit.

Tom Lonergan is a good one.

Everyone loves Nathan Jones, so I can't see that he's underrated. Very difficult to get accolades like AA when your team has been so bad, but he clearly has the respect of the competition. He was basically made captain by plebiscite.

Just because a confirmed senile old git like Sheahan continually doesn't put a player in his 50 doesn't mean he is under rated. Nathan Jones is rated by virtually everyone on this site and by the wider football community, he does not fit the bill.

It's players like Hooker, Douglas, Jonas and even dual B&F winner Joel Patfull who fly under the radar and don't get the kudos they deserve.

Maxwell easily. All Aussie- Prem skipper who is playing an leading better than ever. Grossly underrated. If Murphy had 10% of his on field leadership presence he may not be the basket case leader he is

Nathan Jones, Brent Stanton spring to mind.

Alan Toovey. During our grand final days when Heath Shaw, Harry O'Brien, Leon Davis ect where doing the flashy things down back Possum was consistently locking down the oppositions best small/medium forwards so we could allow the previous mentioned players rack up 20+ disposals and 5+ rebounds and countless dashes from the back half.
Would of said Brent Macaffer a week ago.
Dayne Beams is our clear number 2 onballer who is battled taggers and beaten everyone of them.

lol, Dayne Beams...

Darling is better
Yeah he's been awesome this year but he's hardly underrated although perhaps overshadowed by Kennedy.

For WC I'd say Mackenzie maybe. Outside WC supporters people don't realise just how good he is. I have him up there with Harry Taylor and Luke McPharlin for that defending role.
