Been a bloody good 2 weeks so far. Seen both wins in WA back for the great win V Richmond and now about to jump on a plane to Adelaide.
Just wondering if anyone knows of and official or unofficial happenings in adelaide on Saturday?

Go roos!

I'm officially drinking beers, playing darts & eating home made yiros with my mates down glenelg way before jumping in a tram to head to the game...

Heading over on Friday night. Really looking forward to it despite the appalling seats I bought 2 weeks back (Level 5, Row Z behind goals).

Staying at the Sebel Playford. Not sure if that is typically the hotel for travelling teams?
No idea on hotel... that sounds about right for seats though! Bit strange how the tickets went on sale on the wednesday...

Whats it like these days...only been once to aami in the 90's...crowd still as hostile to opposition colors?

It's vastly different / better than the dated concrete eyesore that is Footy Park.

Crowds are hostile, just like I recently experienced in WA, but generally there's a happier more 'fun' atmosphere since settling in the new digs.

The stadium is world class & us South Australians are very proud of it.
I take no responsibility for the inane uneducated comments that the Adelaide supporters dribble out though.

I'm not a big one for giving mates shit when my team beats them but I cop so much abuse from friends & family when we lose to the Crows that I will most certainly be giving some back Saturday evening should/when we win.

Am really looking forward to watching it from the good side of the bar too!

God I hope we win.

Opening training session at Adelaide oval from 5:30pm to 6:30pm with the opportunity to get photos and autographs after the game.

I haven't had the chance to see North train since 2004, so I'm bloody excited, used to have school or uni, but won't be missing this one. Will be down there with bells on to get signatures and photos with whoever I can. Awesome by the club, just awesome!

Previously I've seen the players stay at the Hilton but that was laidley era.

Excited and nervous all in one. As marklovesbeer said hostility is strong in this one. Crows supporters love dishing it but don't take it so well, something to do with being the only team in a football town for so long so they think they are always right.

Hoping to have the last laugh come Sunday morning

Come to think of it, they were the only team in town for only 6 seasons. And there's been two teams in Adelaide for the past 17. ;)

I remember staying there before the Prelim in 2007 and getting a cab ride from the hotel to the ground with pharro and Rick Aylett.

Laids got into the hotel lift on the AM of the game and I was in there in an NM polo. He barely mumbled something in my direction as he had the most intense look on his face of all time. Very highly strung bloke.

Will be at the game have come over as part of the holidays any catch ups anywhere!
Any bf regulars let me know. Better than than the last last time with a great view of Adelaide oval from my balcony window m

As an Adelaide expat who left 5 years ago who lived at the bay, it sounds amazing being able to jump on the Gleneg tram and goto an AFL match in town.

It's fantastic. No matter where you live it's easy to get in by either train, tram or bus.
All the negative people who opposed the relocation/redevelopment where expecting/hoping the public transport would crumble & faulter under the huge crowds but since day 1 it has been perfect.

The new bridge that swings across the Torrens River is brilliant too. I can see why the Casino chipped in some cash to help with construction as it passes right by their doors & with fifty thousand people leaving through the gates each week I'm sure there's plenty who are keen for a punt after downing eight or nine pints.

It's just great being walking distance from the city center too. So many good bars close by (especially the new Leigh & Peel street precinct off of Hindley Street) compared to the 'Checkside Tavern' attached to Aami Stadium which was horrible.

As an Adelaide Oval member, decided to go to the Port v St Kilda game just to have some beers and watch the footy. Went into the Strathmore after the game, got a table, ordered pizzas, they took less than a half an hour to be served and was there for 3 or 4 hours after the game sinking piss. It was one of those moments where I just thought "how good is this" in regards to all the positives this oval brings.

Umm no, it was hardly a 'great win'

image.jpg Who would be keen for a beer at the Strathmore (two minute walk from the oval straight across the bridge) after the game ...only if we win.

We could get a little SA NMFC BF group happening & raise a glass.

I was planning on hitting up the Cas for a bit after the game. The Strathmore is that pub just across the road isn't it?
It is. From what I hear it gets pretty crowded at Strath.
Sports bar at the Casino isn't bad. Can collect your winnings from the North Melbourne by 40+ & Tarrant first goal bets.

Im in...going to probably stand behind the North race fpr the game if anyone wants to join.

Also had to say if your bored go for a tour of the ground. Reserve on the website...$20. Had a great day with david and des....des is a champ he was going to get us visitor tickets to the game in the members area...but politely declined as we already had tickets...
Very good value tour!

I'm seated directly behind the goals. It's been that long since I've seen North live, I'm so keen for the open training tomorrow night & of course the game!

I'd love to be making the usual trip over for this game. A night sitting on the grassy knoll would've been a perfect spot to see us take down a favourite (according to the bookies anyway).
