So how do we feel about Chad's latest comments?
Spoke of how he hated PAFC growing up and found it ironic he ended up there but then goes on to say PAFC (power) isn't the same club.

As with Roger James, it's not surprising that someone from such a hostile club background - who arrived in those early days when the club was split in two, swathed in teal and marketed horrendously - believes the Power isn't the eternal club.

And as with Roger, what he believes is incompatible to the reality.

I think it's a shame Chad doesn't think he's contributed to this great club as others have done prior to 97.

Sounds like Lance Armstrong's plausible deniability arguments for 13 or so years.

At some point, the bullshit will stop and the truth becomes accepted.

I really liked Chad as a player and he was an absolute gun, at one point pushing Adam Goodes as arguably the best player in the AFL. But he's always been two parts Graham and one part Choco, and for that reason I can take or leave him as former player.

Guys like Byron and Gav (despite Essendon's little publicity/propaganda stunt in their rooms after the recent Port v Bombers game) are legends who'll be hanging around the place for forever and a day, and for that alone will always be loved by the fans.

Did I miss something Finny ?? Elaborate pls...

back on topic.. and its a serious question...

do MMM actually have any Port players on as guests on their sports show? Every week they have Tex Walker and Sam Jacobs on different nights but im yet to hear any Port players on at all

MMM used to be ok with Roo and Ditts but its now pretty much 5AA mk2 now and Jars is pretty much a bald Rowe

Have posted prior re 5cc interview with Mark Harvey coupla weeks ago
"yeah Perth's a 2 team town just like here, and Freo were up against it,
same as Port, with guys like you try'n to keep them down !!"

ahem
cough cough

now Harv's wadda ya think about
blah blah

I am going to take some learnings from my crows supporting friends and how they judge McDermott.

Chad has issues from when the club sacked him and we won't let go or forgive. Therefore, anything he says that I don't like shall be clumped into the 'Chad is bitter' category and I never have to bother with it.

Having said that - his comments we so much like is fathers logic it was scary. Straight from the 'port reap what they sow, they back stabbed the Sanfl in 1990 and deserve to suffer' but in the next breath 'they are not the same club and have no right to the port heritage'.

wanganeen was only on loan to essendon while we were forced to delay our obvious entry into the league. like a proper legend, unlike several other flogs, he was straight back the minute we joined.

Makes me love Kane more.

Kane will probably be the same. He's a fair bit more level headed than Chad but the same Cornes emotion is there. Remember when Primus dropped him and his Twitter changed from "Player at the Port Adelaide Football Club" to "Player at the Glenelg Football Club", and he turned up to the 2011 Adelaide Oval game in his civvies while the others wore PA suits?

Although he's probably grown up a bit since then, and the emotion over Chad's dumping has probably abated somewhat.

I doubt he'd be as poisonous tho... Reckon the taste in his mouth is far better now than it was, and it'll finish that way.

Pretty confident with Tex coming to port, don't see him wanting to leave his family, extended family and friends to go play in Melbourne when he can stay in SA and play for the club his father truly loves

That and the fact Essendon have no morals.

Great comment, maybe someone should hit him with this.

Geez here we go ...........................
PORT Adelaide is bracing itself for a raid from interstate clubs for its superstar youngster Chad Wingard.

And one of the main threats that has flagged its interest in the talented forward is premiership threat Hawthorn, which has a history of attracting the players they want through aggressive trading.
Power football operations chief Peter Rohde took a pragmatic view to the byplay, but said Port was prepared for persistent offers from other clubs.
“We think he’ll be aggressively pursued, there’s no doubt about that,’’ Rohde said.

yep and we want Cameron doesn't mean its going to happen. TBH chad is the last one i would worry about leaving

Anyone get a chance to look at the advertiser footy fans survey? No port play mentioned in the first five questions apart from Angus monfries in the most hated players. Of course no lovely boys in the most hated but they are well represented in the other, more positive categories.

No Boak in the afl best player categories and no port player mentioned in the toughest player. I guess withering and wincing three or four games is a pre-requisite for being a 'tough' player.

I didn't even bother finishing the survey.
