If this was a home and away game I would say that it is not over yet. But as things stand in this Grand Final, I would say that it is "game over".

Everything is going perfectly for the Hawks and nothing going right for the swans.
I reckon the swans would want half time to come soon cos it could get real ugly

Pathetic effort Sydney. I'm outta here.

I'll close with this: our era is objectively better than any other side by a long, long way and there's literally no way of arguing otherwise. It shouldn't even be an argument and it's frankly offensive that people will attempt to make it in to one. Our dominance of the competition dwarfs our nearest rival; virtually every statistic corroborates the assertion that our era was the best. The only reason I feel obliged to make a counter-argument is to pre-emptively rebut the misguided nonsense we're going to have to put up with in the aftermath of this game. It's nothing more than recency bias that will compel people to claim that Hawthorn are anywhere near us; if Hawthorn's era had come before Geelong's, there would be absolute zero dispute as to which team was better.

Hawks will run out of puff but Swans need to stand up and kick a couple of goals now. And start giving it back-Hawks have cleaned up just about every Swans player now. Get tough Sydney. Make a contest at least.

Swans are passengers out there. No effort and they are just running round.

We would beat this Syndey team. Not hungry enough…

Of all the ******* days Swans….

Go Catters

Obviously you have a short memory Daz.

We were woeful against Norf for most of the game.

I don't buy these "we would have won had we played them" posts.
The fact is that the Swans caned our collective arses by 110 points.

The only people you need to explain that to are the beta Hawforn band wagoners. I'm totally satisfied with what we've achieved and no amount of floggery from a gastric 80's primary school yard wanna be bully will change that.

Every deflection, touched ball, bounce goes Hawks way….

Talk about rub of green…

It is very difficult to win a flag after winning it the previous year.
It is an achievement even if it is achieved by a team that we dislike.

Oh, and for the thousandth time, back-to-back is not a historically uncommon occurrence, and there's no reason it should be exalted as a big achievement. As has been pointed out before, winning a premiership two years after your first is, statistically speaking, a rarer event.

We can make all the excuses we want, the fact is right now they are a better team by a long, long way. Ideally we might be able to learn something from them. Doubt it though.

Just showing how crap Sydney are playing really…

What I've learned is that nowadays it's better to buy hardened pro's than nurse a bunch of nice guys with long term injuries. Built not bought is a thing of the past.

It's called "pressure" Daz.
When you are a team like Hawthorn that is drilled on Lazer like precision disposal, even in pressure moments, and the opposition struggles it can look like "Luck" is just going your way.
But it is not Luck.

Look, I agree with you, inasmuch as I am personally satisfied with what we've achieved, but my issue is that if the media perpetuates the lie that Hawthorn have been our equals - and they're going to do exactly that - then it affects the legacy of this great era. Maybe that doesn't matter to you (and I respect your opinion if it doesn't), but it sure as hell matters to me. It effects how the team will be remembered and talked about. I want history to remember this team for exactly what they were, which was the most dominant team in VFL/AFL history. It will be utterly farcical if 2007-2014 is remembered as some kind of "dual era" between Geelong and Hawthorn.

As much as I hate to say it, we may just need to be honest and talk the Hawks up.
I know that it is painful but I believe that it is true.
