Sorry if it's already been mentioned by someone, but Chris Pelchen told SEN that St Kilda have received three offers for pick 1 today.
Will be interesting to hear from who, and in exchange for what.

http://www.afl.com.au/trade/trade-talk
"St Kilda has knocked back one offer for its prized pick No.1 in the past hour and another two offers this morning, according to head of football Chris Pelchen.

Speaking on SEN, Pelchen said interest in the No.1 selection had grown with less than 24 hours until Thursday's 2pm trade deadline, describing talks as a "bidding frenzy".

The offers flowing to St Kilda are packages of picks inside the top 15 in the upcoming NAB AFL Draft, but the Saints are also open to players being part of the trade.

The Saints have raised a number of players with clubs that are interested in pick No.1, but those propositions have been rejected."

Ah man, really torn here. Don't want to listen to muppet Barrett but I need to know when and if this trade goes down.

Decided I'll kill the feed and keep refreshing this thread. ******* Barrett.
Ive avoided trade radio, twitter is pretty quick with information that actually happens, while trade radio is 95% filler.

You can bank on one being from GWS. Probably for 4 and 7.
with 3 absolute guns in the draft, i dont see why st kilda would be that stupid?

Its all talk i reckon

Well we know it's 4. They only have 7 and 43,62 and so on. So does anyone actually think that 4 is enough for Griffen? I don't.

I reckon their current offer would stand at 7, steak knives and a firm **** you!

But I'm not saying we should cave in. At the moment its been reported that GWS have offered us pick 4 for Griff and 6 which I would not take at all. I think they will cave in and give us a much better deal than that (just not with Boyd) so i don't see it as us being weak. To me that would not be unders for Griff and would be a good deal for us as we would still be front runners for Boyd next year. I just don't think it shows weakess, we have come out and got their number 1 pick to commit to us. Whether that happens this year or next its a bloody big statement and shows our intent. Get a good deal with Griff and get the cancer out of our club and its still a win. We will still be in a great position to get Boyd next year, I don't think it should Boyd or Bust.

What had mad our position look weak is the perception that Griffen would prefer to sit out a year than play for us for one more year then explore his FA options. We lose bargaining power because of it. The AFL should intervene and say any player that does this has to sit out 2 years. Because if we accept a weak deal it will set a precedent for players to crack to sooks meaning clubs have to facilitate any deal on deadline day.

As much as I don't care for losing him, even in a weakened deal to at least ensure we get Wright this whole drama really says quite a bit about him. So much that if I was GWS I wouldn't even want him. I understand leaving for money/change/Home, I even understand leaving because you dont agree with the direction of the club with the coach. But to leave a club who you gave 10 years of service to, bleed to the death in prelims, to then prefer to sit it out, weaken our trading position (after the guy he had a problem with left anyway) well and truly is a disgrace.

Personally if he didn't deal and said I'm happy to play i'd still make him sit it out, but by leaving the perception out there that he is fine with that also stuffs himself up because it can harm our ability to do a deal.

All in all after writing this I see he is dumb, GWS is dumb, so it's actually a good fit

I would agree - except both players are contracted.

It suits the AFL to have this whole thing fall over to some extent to maintain the "integrity" of contracts and send something of a message that it is very difficult to achieve a transfer while under contract to your club.

I agree but surely they'd be worried about the image of two players running around (or even a club captain sitting out) who don't want to be there. They've always hated the NRL model of it being known players won't be there as far as a year out but they are now faced with it.

Luckily for us - the 5% that is not filler this year has been almost 100% bulldogs.

On the open market Griffen is worth 1st round and second rounder. Heard Melbourne's list manager, Josh Mahoney confirm this.

As GWS' first marquee recruit, somone wanting to come to them, when all the talk is about who would want to go there. Griffen is worth more than market value to them. In addition they have the capacity to pay.

In my view a lot of what Picks Griffen is worth is irrelevant, its Boyd or bust now I hope. (But I also hope we have been working on a backup plan with another 3rd party club)
Buyers dictate price, not sellers. I agree that GWS need this deal for future credibility but if they offer a reasonable deal and we knock it back then they will come out with egg of our faces. (we could rush rush out another video to minimise damage though).

4 and a second round pick would be a good deal or 4 and player that isn't one of their marque players but someone solid even better.

My worry at the moment is that decisions will be made that are influenced by emotion which may not be the best outcome for the club.

Even though GWS are playing hard ball with Boyd, I honestly can't see Boyd playing for them after he has declared he wants to play for us..
I mean that will be one awkward year not to mention when we play each other.

Or Boyd for P1

Or P6 and P7 for P1 :D

if they traded boyd to St Kilda for Pick 1, so much for their Credibility and statements saying he will not be traded... They will look like absolute rudderless dick heads !

St kilda ( Knowing there are 3 standout players in the draft) will not swap pick 1 for 4 & 7, or 6 & 7

Jasksch deal done, P19 off the table.

Starts to get tricky now, if the intent was to give up P6 and Griffen.
Get pick 19 off Carlton for Jones and 27 (doubt they'd do it though) and give it back to GWS with Griff in exchange for Boyd... Now that would make my day...

Also get to avoid listening to Wallace who makes me have shortness of breath listening to his voice
The list manager............ I don't mind Terry, but his choice of handles is pretty hilarious.

Yes buyers dictate price. But so does the law of supply and demand. How many marquee players have asked to be traded to GWS? One....now GWS are faced with buggering it up and looking like arse clowns to the industry while screwing Griffen, because they won't trade a player who doesn't want to be there??

You must be one of the few Bulldogs supporters that can stomach that bloke.

Talk about scorching the earth when you leave a club.

I've even softened on Nathan Brown, Ryan Griffen on the other hand.........
