THE 34 current and former Essendon players facing doping charges will finally see the evidence against them, with reissued show-cause notices expected to arrive on Friday.

Right, let's nip these in the bud and put it all behind us.

Except Ryder.... Guilty as sin, 2 years minimum ;-)

tell them it was all his idea 4 years for trafficking

Is it Jon Ralph?

I'm glad.. the quicker they can get the notices.. the quicker they can end this shit..

Either they fight and win.. or they take some BS backdated deal and be back ready in time for Round 1..

I think they are ready for the fight.. so bring it on.

There is no way if the players accept deals that they will play Round 1. 2015 could be a gap year.

To the more informed posters, I've drifted in and out of this saga and I'd like to pose a question. Just how likely is it that this will be over before the start of next season?
If the player fight the charges.. unlikely
If the players take deals.. likely

Players take deals and not miss any games - No !

I think the plan is to grab the detail, if it is as expected - take it straight to the tribunal and bypass the waste of time 'process'. Could and should happen fairly quickly.

What if ASADA (unofficially) threaten to take their time getting the ADRVP to look at the cases, meaning that if the players fight, they won't get to the tribunal stage for ages ?

This would enable ASADA to put more pressure on the players to take deals.

I think what they mean is the players will place 'themselves' on the ROF - and ask straight out for a tribunal hearing.

Bypass replying to Show Cause/ADRVP etc, which really is a long-winded wank.

Is he still weighing up whether to actually testify?

Putting two and two together - going by Chip's article the other day.

I know we have been pushing/working with the federal police to attack this from a criminal perspective - there are skeletons everywhere you look at this case and these guys have been involved in drug rackets, importing 'vitamins' then selling on the black market in the past.

Sometimes you stick your neck out, and it gets cut off. Im hoping we've got stuff up our sleeve we can hit these individuals with come cross-examination time.

no that won't happen. That's not how you pressure players to take deals.

The way you pressure players to take deals is you release the SCNs, simultaneously offer a deal, and say you have 48 hours, clock's ticking

I thought they were to be issued Monday (according to news last week)?

Seems like the initial news reporting from earlier this year - pick a day 3-4 days ahead, report on that. Rinse and repeat.

I found this interesting from the HUN. I thought they'd have to do separate cases. Man it would be nice to win this one if they could:

If the evidence against the players is similar, they would likely request a single “representative” case be heard, with the league, ASADA and the players to all have lawyers on hand.
