So, afl.com.au are going with this:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-03-16/tarrant-a-lock-for-roos
Cliffs: Swallow says Tarrant is a lock for round one.
I haven't had time to listen to Swallow on SEN but from the quotes in the article it doesn't indicate that it's as definitive as the writer suggests. How I read it is that Taz is a lock to be in defence this year - not a lock for round one.
Anyone who listened to Swallow (audio contained in the article): Did he actually say Tarrant is lock for round one?
If it's the SEN interview, Swallow said Taz would play defence, not that he was a lock for the Round 1 team.
Lack of proper research. Which isn't that unusual to me.Yeah, as I suspected. Misleading article.
Expecting intelligence from Mark Allen is like expecting * to be honest.Listening to the interview now.
Is Mark Allen (where's he from btw?) fair dinkum? Tried to list all our key forwards to ask the (now tired) question of how the coach is going to fit all the key forwards in. He rattled off Waite, Brown, Petrie, Tarrant... then gave up.
Even watching the 5 minute long highlights package of the NAB Challenge games will show you that Tarrant is playing down back. The information has been out for about 5 months now. Lazy media performer is lazy.

Perfunctory Footywire search?Listening to the interview now.

Mark Allen is not OK. He's either always ill informed, just plain stupid but most likely both.He came across ok and interested in learning more about North's setup but that was a bit ill informed.
Compared to most media folk he seemed good enough.
Heart of a lion. What a super effort it is from Taz to get back playing AFL.
Fingers crossed he gets an extended run at it and all the injuries are behind him.
I think the sub title for this thread may be a bit outdated now...All aust CHB by years end
Heart of a lion.
