If that pick 14 eventuates there is no way I'd have it on the table if Darcy Tucker is available in that range in next year's draft, already as good as Gibbs skills wise and IMO a better prospect than Brad Crouch was at a similar stage of development. This kid is very special.
Like Toumpas was ? ;)......anyone still want him?

I never saw Toumpas play before he was drafted, Darcy Tucker I have watched in the flesh at least a dozen times both in 2014 and this season, recently he has been made Captain of the AFL Academy Squad and he is captaining the North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Comp this year, already has a skillset that would play Toumpas on a break..don't worry I'll refer you back to this thread in a few years champ!!

Kerridge + pick 14 (dangerfield compo)

Gibbs + Carlton second round pick
Have to wonder if that would get it over the line, like really, how much is Kerridge worth at this stage? Might be different come the end of the season if he gets into the team and looks solid, but at this stage I assume his value wouldn't be all that high and 14 wouldn't look that great for Gibbs either.

Pretty shit if what you said was to happen in terms of us losing Dangerfield and then also having to give up another player in Kerridge to gain someone that wouldn't be as good as Dangerfield - the key thing is one of those guys is under contract.

Gibbs would be a great addition to the side and I'd love for us to try and get him as Carlton might finally realise they need to actually rebuild, I just don't see us being a serious contender in being able to secure his services.

If we had Gibbs we would literally soil ourselves laughing at a Kerridge + 14 offer for our player + 2nd round.

kedge & 14 alone would still cause a few drops of pee to escape in the merriment.

If u wouldn't accept it, don't propose it

Mate, this confuses me.

We could have had Gibbs last year - all he had to do was decide to sign. Free. He made his choice.
To move now, he has to decide to sign AND we have to work a deal with Carlton.

He may have changed his mind, but i havent heard/seen any indication of that happening. Carlton was crap and in decline well before he signed, so i dont see any reason to think something has changed.

This ship has well and truly sailed mate until the end of his current contract.

I'd rather aish or toumpas over Gibbs, You'll only get Gibbs for something that will help carlton rebuild, they will want multiple picks lower than 15. Aish will be better than Gibbs, Toumpas still could be, he just needs the ground ball tutoring that Walsh specialises in, his outside game is good, he just doesn't get enough of his own ball.

Is this now becoming fashionable amongst the players ???
Given the new CBA is being negotiated & new TV rights deal expected to bring in an extra 60%, you can probably understand those wanting to sign longer deals holding off til the new salary cap is clearer...

Yep. Gibbs plays mostly in cruise control. Not interested.

We are due for another good blues player ;)

They can have harps &/or smarty in return...

Blues now talking a rebuild, so you would think they would be looking to trade players foe picks.

Henderson wouldn't come cheap though.
if danger did for some unknown reason want to leave, could we match and force a trade to carlton?? Id take henderson and yarran for danger and sam shaw. I wonder if eddie betts will be tellin yarran to get out while he can..

Huge call there, huge...

Henderson obviously fills our needs of another key defender or forward really, either way that'd help. Then Yarran with great outside run and brilliant ball use from half back/wing. While Danger is a superstar in every part of the game, we've got plenty of midfield depth that could possibly cover him despite him being top 5 in the league.

what's your thoughts of Darcy parish bicks? Think he would also suit what we need, bit of skill and pace in the outside .... Hope we go for a mid this year with a bit of speed and match winning ability

Saw him against west coast mark a kickin from a point then 20 metre chip to another player. He just jogged off up the field after he kicked it. No urgency in his game whatsoever to create another option. I'm with you. Cruising.

Probably more about the mindset of the whole team!

Blues are in for a world of pain for a while - just as well they have a crack team to lead the rebuild ;)

Possible team mindset, but actions of certain players can turn that around. He wasn't doing much to do that. Going through the motions really. He needs to lead by example not go with the flow.
Don't get me started on world of pain statement. I've used it and will probably come back to bite me. ;)

When he can't get a game over someone like Harry Cunningham who got 3 touches in the grand final, then that says something. Not to mention the likes of Jake Lloyd, Henney and can't even replace an injured McGlynn.

Harry Cunningham is a completely different type of player. Had a breakout year in 2014 and was used a lot as a tagger. Was bloody good locking down Harvey in that prelim. (also - he had 9 touches in the GF).

Jake Lloyd and McGlynn were preferred in 2014 due to their flexibility. Both are proficient up forward - McGlynn as an actual small forward and Lloyd with the ability to play as a defensive forward.

Heeney - ain't no shame in losing your spot to Heeney. Kid is going to be an absolute gun. Amazingly lucky to get this kid at the 17th spot in the draft.

The issue for Mitchell is he is a ball winner 100%. He is one dimensional and is really competing for a spot amongst the other Swan key ballwinners - Kennedy, Jack, Hanneberry and McVeigh. You can't fit them all in.

I think the writing is on the wall. He may well rack up tackles while he's in close and there's no doubt he's a great in and under player. But it's his defensive side that lets him down most, in addition to his kicking. Longmire obviously wants a lot more from his starters.

The writing may be on the wall at the Swans, but this doesn't mean he won't turn out to be an extremely good footballer. As I said before he is just 21 and is struggling to get a game in the best midfield in the AFL. Would be a permanent starter in all but one or two clubs at AFL level.

Thought you said the only thing keeping Tom Mitchell from playing was injury? Remember you saying he was best 22 for the Swans?
Last year.

At the time he had been returning from injury, got injured in early rounds missed games and was getting match fitness back against NEAFL teams which were amature league standard. This was confirmed by a Swans poster last year.

Other players must have gone past him this preseason.
