Apologies if this is covered elsewhere. This site is way too big and I havent got the time to see if its up and about.

Anyhow, Ive got 5 candidates, in my order of shatteredness!

5. 2006

I wasn't too upset in 05, feeling was still fresh, getting knocked out by the Crows was a kick in the teeth, but , 06, and the feeling was, well, it's all over. Time to start again. The spectacle of 07 was out the box.

4. 2008

Gee we could pinch one here! Could we have fallen any lower after a grand final appearance?

3. 2000

I went to Etihad to see us lose to St. Kilda mid season which put us the bottom. All this after our maiden finals appearance? The last month and a half saved us big time and sowed all the seeds.

2. 2011

I rate the match against Melbourne at Adelaide Oval as crucial. I thought we were relegated. A basket case, a SANFL return was not way out of the question for me.

1. 2015

Early call, 10 to go, but at Christmas time, I was convinced here comes flag #2. Haven't watched any AFL matches since the loss to Carlton. I normally watch them all.

Where do you rate them?

2003, but nothing compares to '84.

I moved from Keith (a Magpies team) as a born and bred Port supporter to Freeling (The Redlegs) that year. As impressionable young kids everyone in the school was a Pseudo Norwood supporter. School was bloody tough after that game.

01, the double chance blown, that home loss to hawthorn, that hurt.

while it doesnt quite compare to the 01-02-03 debacles the way we fell out midway through last year, only to regain it late in the season to show how good we really were late winning the greatest elim ever... the away final in perth, and then to dominate early but to ultimately blow our season away with poor kicking (and green clown 9...9 frees by 1 ump to hawthorn in a quarter...gtfo) upon reflection that was a huge dissapointment a massive wasted opportunity, one we could only dream off right now.

Think I failed to explain myself. I was looking more for seasons as they unfolded.

02 and 03 well we were right in it till the last week or two. That was end result?

Still certain that we were by far best side side in 03, but not quite in 04 ....

Which season unfolded to the least of your expectations?

Were the old North boys playing there then ?? Stuey Lamond etc.

Special mention to 1997.

A good debut season but very disappointing in the end to miss the finals after being 10-7 after 17 rounds, failing to salute in the last 5 games, throwing away big leads against Adelaide and Brisbane, when just one more win would have got us into the eight.

When every football pundit/expert in Victoria tipped us to go winless for the season?
Yeah, I know we exceeded the expectations of those people but we are Port Adelaide and we have high standards. We put ourselves in a strong position to make the finals in the first season - it really would have been history in the making - but couldn't get the job done and that, for me, was disappointing.
