Given their age profile, they would be idiots to give him up without a fight.

Then if we lost Scharenberg to PA, use that pick plus our second rounder and a fringe player to get it over the line. Pick 7, 27 and Fasolo? I think I'm dreaming here.

But it's slightly less than the Beams trade and at the time of trade Fasolo is more proven then Crisp, Fasolo like Crisp is a fringe, I think it would take someone with more upside, like Seedsman, but still to get that done, we would have forfeited Scharenberg and that truth (in respect to my hypothetical) would not to be sneezed at.

The thing that stood out in that article re the upcoming trade period is that they reckon there's offers of up to 600k a year for Jeremy Howe! What the hell? I can only hope it's Carlton making that offer and that they get him on a five year deal.

An article on the AFL website from a few days ago stated that it was believed Richmond and North had offered Treloar 7 year deals but Collingwood was seen as his preferred choice on a 5 year deal.

Christ I want him at the club but 7 years would be a bit rich.

He's good but not that good.

However I really do think he will come good, just needs more game time and confidence.

The afl need to step in and restrict deals to a maximum of 5 years. Some of these proposed contract lengths are the stuff that will cripple a club. It's like giving a first time driver a Bugatti on loan.
